Title: Gaslands - On Foot rules?
Post by: Mr. White on December 10, 2019, 03:08:58 AM
I know there are some Pedestrian rules in the Dec 2019 issue of Wargamers Illustrated, but have there been any before now? 20mm minis I assume. Any idea if they're based on rounds or squares?

the old Games workshop Dark future models would work, also there is Stan Johansen minis which would work too. Think both are integral sort of small oval(ish) bases - my DF stuff is sitting around somewhere, I'll try and dig them out to confirm.

So l just reacquired some Dark Future Street Warriors. What to base 20mm minis on? I think my standard GW bases would be too tall. Washers?

Washers or low value coins always make good bases.

Nice and thin, and add weight to the bottom of the figure which helps with stability.

I use 5ct. Coins. They cost 5 ct.  lol lol lol Much cheaper than any plastics. 2cts would also work. They can be bought at any bank.

I bet you British guys have also low value coins which can be used (1-5 p.).

Yep, 1p and 2p coins are great, 20mm and 25mm respectively - very hard to find washers for the same price. The modern ones are steel so stick to magnetic sheet for storage.

Thanks for the tips, fellas!

Looking over these pedestrian rules....I've got two questions:
1) Is there no action to get in/out or start/stop the car? A driver stops the car, then on their next turn just moves away? if they're on foot and they move to the car, they just appear inside and can drive next turn?

2) a driver on foot _must_ spend one of their to actions doing a move? they can't 'Take Cover' twice? I guess they could do the most minimal of movement and still stay behind cover?

I don't mind house-ruling the above for clarity at my table, but just want to be sure I'm reading the suggested rules correctly.

EDIT: Also, does anyone have two hooded/masked cultists from the Dark Future Street Warriors line they could part with for a reasonable price? I didn't get any in the blister and I'd like two. No recasts please.
