Title: More Vietnam Adventures...
Post by: Neldoreth on March 15, 2007, 04:26:35 AM
Finally got back to my Vietnam project after taking a much needed break from my two  and a half month and counting Lothlorien Project (http://www.blackbirdmedia.org/miniatures/?view=terrain&which=lothlorien). I painted this one as a test fig...  Unfortunately, West Wind along with TAG seem to have overlooked the fact that there were a substantial proportion of African Americans and Hispanic soldiers that took part, so I tried to simply paint this one with an African American skin tone...  Unfortunately, because it was sculpted as a caucasian, it looks like a white guy painted black...

Anyway, there are three different greens on the fig and I am pretty happy with it as a test fig. All I need to add is some mud and it should be perfect for me!

Nice! Which colours did you use for the skin?

Thanks for the positive feedback! For the skin I used Vallejo flat brown successively lightened with white for four highlights.
