Started working my way through a series of German vehicles. First off the production line is the rather nice Rubicon Sdkfz 250/9.
I'll add an aerial and probably a commander when I've a few more finished.
I've included a WIP pic too because I found it quite satisfying - reminds me of an old Tamiya catalogue picture :-)

that is really good painting. Did you use an airbrush!
-
Thank you.
Yep, used an airbrush for most of it. Weathering was all done with acrylics (i.e. no pigments).
-
What an absolutely smashing job, Keith. Subtle as anything, but wonderfully sharp. Can’t beat Rubicon for detail, can you. Lovely kits. A pleasure to build and paint.
(I have a stack to do - I must really get back to the western desert lol)
-
Marvellous stuff :o :o :o
-
Terrific work. Looks superb.
-
Wonderful work Keith! The camo is great but the subtle weathering is the real king here.
-
Nice painting.
-
Gorgeous!
-
Fantastic weathering on the running gear :-*
-
Looks great. :o
-
Very nice! Its always to have something different on the table.
-
Really nice!
-
:-* :-* :-* Impressive job Keith, as usual from you. Are those PE mesh screens that come with the kit or something after market?
-
Very beautiful work!
-
That’s amazing
-
Very sharp!

WIP Rubicon Jagdpanther with a few tweaks to make it a G2 (tools & jack-block repositioned, moved tow-cable mounts etc.). Must be the first time I've made one of these for over 30 years :-).
Base colours down so far - ready for some of the dirty stuff! Based on a vehicle around April '45.
-
Nice work :-*
-
By heck that looks good :-*
Enjoy the weathering! It’s the best bit :)
-
Looking mighty fine already Keith! Those Rubicon kits really are a joy to work on.
-
Fantastic, that’s lovely ałready
-
Smartly turned out as ever that man.

Splendid work mate 8)

Brilliant!

Bookmarked for reference and inspiration 8)

Very nice work.
-
Stellar work! I hope I can achieve your level of expertise with an airbrush some day!
-
haha, thankyou.
If 'always 30 seconds away from disaster' counts as expertise then great lol
-
Nailed that colour scheme.
-
Bit of a change of tack (don't worry though, silly amounts of 28mm kit on the table too right now).
These are pure comfort food in light of recent events and one of my 'isolation projects' over the next weeks/months.
Old Battlefield and Drew's Militia 20mm figures. I've converted two of these with head-swaps. Nice and fun figures to paint, not stressful and deeply nostalgic for me - both scale and sculpts.
To give a sense of scale these are based on European 5c coins - almost exactly the size of a UK 1p piece :-)

Gorgeous. Lovely job on the camo.
-
Love those Keith Top notch.
-
Phenomenal painting. Such a shame 20mm isn't so mainstream these days.
-
You are a ruddy marvellous painter...love all your work
-
Smashing work Keith!
-
You are killing me with these , 20 mm should not look this good :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*

A couple more 20mm figures - AB Figures this time. Some of the new(ish) winter suit Germans painted as SS. I'm trying to squeeze these in between home-schooling and working from home but hope I'll get a bit more time now that the Easter 'holidays' have started for the kids.
-
Fabulous. Love them. Cracking job, Keith :-*
-
Stunning :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*
-
Excellent!! I've never seen better.
-
Bang on with the camo! Superb painting :o
-
Those are amazing.
54mm?
-
Just terrific! Hard to believe that they are 20mm. Superb!
-
I thought mine were decently painted before I saw your miniatures... incredible!
Cheers Fedja

Bumping up a scale again. I need a few Paras for a planned 'Isolation' game and here are the first.
Some of the venerable but still rather nice Foundry Paras - I must have had these for almost twenty years.
The 'We Have Ways of Making You Talk' podcast with James Holland and Al Murray has a serialised reading of 'The Cauldron' which is a great companion to painting these.
Hmm ... pics come out rather large. Sorry about that - warts and all it is :-)
-
Beautiful job on those. Top notch. 👍👍
-
Beautiful painting :)Actually the large photos are very good, let’s us all get an idea how you paint, technique, all that. The placement of light, brilliant :)
-
Beautiful. Right down to the hatband on the beret. Spot on Keith.
How many are you going to be doing?
-
Bloody Hell, Keith, you're good at this! :)
-
Stunning :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*
Love the faces
-
How many are you going to be doing?
Well, I need at least another section but I'd quite like to do a fully 'refreshed' force for CoC (so about a platoon's worth).
It's a tug of love between these and late war British infantry I've got waiting in the wings too though, so I might bounce between the two for variety. Both forces are in camoflage kit but each has a very specific look which I'll try to capture as best I can.
-
Lovely paintwork, may I ask which colours you used for the Denison’s (I’ve got those same Foundry Paras sitting in the queue, probably for about as long) :)

Sure - all Vallejo which makes it a bit easier.
Smock base colour is Vallejo Khaki. I add a bit of Burnt Umber to it for shade colour and Ivory for highlights.
Green is Luftwaffe Green and Brown is Mahogany Brown. Also with Ivory to highlight although a small spot of Orange Brown in the highlight can stop it going too pink depending on the look you are after.
Hope that helps?
-
Many thanks Keith, they'll be heading up the lead pile for some Operation Squad Evolution games I think :)
-
Very nice painting.
The colour information is very useful. Thanks.
-
Love the Foundry paras. Lovely brushwork Keith.
All the best,
Helen

These are a bit good Keith!
-
The Foundry British Paras are lovely.
Outstanding, in every way.
-
Embarassing how far back I had to search to find this thread :D
An Empress late war Brit in windproof suit with No.32 set. I've done him as HLI so suitable from October '44 onwards really - from the Scheldt to the Siegried line.
Paul Hicks has managed to get so much charcter into these.
