Figured I'd start a thread for BC's best wargames weekend, 2020 edition.
Anyone else from LAF going to be there, and are you running anything?
I'll be running a 1:1200 WW2 coastal naval game on the Friday night, Brits vs Jerry in tiny fragile overgunned overpowered speedboats along the East Coast of England sometime in 1942.

Saturday afternoon I'll be running a Pulp Alley 2nd Ed game in which the players are werewolves competing to eat or terrorize more villagers and livestock than their competing werewolves, sometime in the 17th C.

That coast line looks rather good.
Unfortunately you are many 1000s of miles away, so no chance of making the show.

Thanks! Coastline build thread is here: https://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=121255.0
I'm currently slobbering paint onto impossibly tiny ships, and the bases for them have been ordered. Need to print out some stat cards and get some playtests in so I have some idea of how Narrow Seas works as a rule set before the show!

Hi, Brian,
I'm planning to be there, haven't planned on hosting any games but that could change between now and April.
cheers
Will

I don't think I will make it this year now. Too bad because I wanted a piece of that Pulp Alley game.
-
I might pop in Saturday. I'll probably do what I normally do..... pay $5 and just walk around the hall ogling all the tables and set ups and chat with a few of the familiar faces.

I'm very curious as to why this hasn't been cancelled yet, with so many things in the Lower Mainland and the Island being cancelled. :?

I suspect that there are never more than 250 people at the event at one time.
That said, there may be a lot fewer people there than expected based on what I have seen from some other events in the US that didn't cancel

I suppose that's true pixelgeek. I guess we'll have to see what happens

I spoke with one of the committee members yesterday. For now, Trumpeter Salute is still on. The next committee meeting is on Thursday, by which time they'll have more information from Bonsor and City of Burnaby.
So look for the next update on Thursday evening.
-
Thanks for the update Will.
-
Province of BC has just put limited public gatherings to 50 people or less. Looks like Trumpeter Salute 2020 is cancelled, time to start planning for Clash of Arms in October instead!
-
Thanks for the update Will. I guess that answers that.
-
The cancellation has been announced on the Trumpeter facebook group and the webpage will be updated imminently. So now it's official.
Stay safe, get some painting done!

I plan to. :) You stay safe as well.
-
Yeah, hopefully all is normal enough to expand Clash of Arms in October into a full weekend event.
Back to painting stuff, I guess, although I have to admit all this weirdness has kind of taken the wind out of my sails...

I'm glad I'm not alone Brian.
