Now that I have painted two forces for Anno Domini 1666, it's time to paint stuff I've actually planned to paint.
I'm going to play Outremer: Faith and Blood until my collection of painted miniatures is big enough for Lion Rampant.
Renouart le Fevre (fictional) my band leader and his entourage:

And his squire Wymon Fitzgibbon (fictional) with his aides:

More to come.

Very nicely done indeed. ;D
-
Those are wonderful!
-
Superb!
-
Thank You gentlemen!
Here is another one. Hugues II de Bar.

I haven't painted 28mm horses (clothed or not) in ages. Also freehanding anything is a think that I need to learn once again. I can't remember when I last did something like this.
-
Great work :D
-
Donno how I missed this thread ???
Fab work. You can tell you're enjoying getting stuck into them 8)
-
Very nicely done. ;)
I am also enjoying or feeling the pain of freehand heraldry at the moment. lol
-
I like those (apart from the guilty feeling I’m getting from not touching mine). And feel your pain on freehand heraldry, I’d rather paint tartan :)
-
Thanks once again.
This stuff partically paints up itself. I knew the moment I saw the Kickstarter, that I want to paint these miniatures.
So here is one more: Guy de Blois and his retinue.

Mounted version of Guy is next in line on the table.
-
I couldn't end it here. I had to paint Guy de Blois on his horse. So here he is.

And both together.

Lovely work again. I like the muted colours on the foot soldiers, it gives a nice grimy feel to the overall effect. :)
-
Here is Godfrey Peverel and his servants.

Does anyone have a good source of crusading era flags?
-
Great work!
-
Really like your style. :)
-
Those really do look fine.
Crusade flags here:

Blimey! You're belting through them!
Great work! 8) 8) 8)

Olofeus these are really great. Can I ask what colours you use to paint your bases?
-
Thanks for Your comments.
Here is Bertrand de Baux. I had fun painting him.

Now I've painted half of the troops.

@TheMarquis: I use Vallejo Model colours. The base is painted with Dark Sand and then cover the base with two layers of sand, loose foliage, some static grass and cork chips.

Excellent, you are really motoring through these ;D
-
Really lovely stuff :-*
You can tell that you're really enjoyed painting them up 8)
-
Fantastic. Thank you for bringing the Kickstarter figures to life.
-
Thank You all. I'm humbled by Your comments.
Today I painted Philip de Verney from the Order of Saint John.

I love the pose on this figure.

Managed to get these done today despite all other things. Still I think I might be running out of steam. Only 15 more left. Maybe I can keep up with this pace...
Here's Bigot du Hommet.

This time the henchmen were the nicest part to paint. The sculpted expressions on their faces were superb. I was just colouring.
-
Only 15 left :o. You can do it!
And they are beautifully painted, they look superb.
-
I'm still kicking. 12 models left.

Only 11 left to go.

Great stuff, but why not paint historical armorials.
If you need some let me know I have a great list of French and English, who they fought for and when they changed sides, died etc.
Cheers
Matt
-
I’d be interested in that list - I have a hankering to use my figs for the Angevin/Capetian kerfuffle :)
-
Historical stuff would be nice. Althought I have used some historical sources as inspiration, I decided to use these models as crusaders and went to paint them as complitely fictional characters.

I will post on my blog a list early next week

Today's painting was a tough one. I had trouble with painting the shield. Still made it.

Loving your progress! Great brush work!

Thanks. Only eight more to go. (And then some extras). Love the sculpts. The first time I saw them on the internet, I knew that I wanted to paint these miniatures.
Can't wait for the second Kickstarter.

Time for group shots. I didn't even manage to play a single game of Outremer. Now I have about 24 points for Lion Rampant. It might not be an optimized list, but it will get more options as soon as the second Kickstarter is due.

Absolutely amazing work! I missed the KS, so thanks for showing off the figs! Might have to get my hands on some myself!
-
Beautiful work
:-*
-
Well done on the commitment (I’ve failed completely) and the quality, they look smashing.
-
Thank you again everyone. As I said the nice comments kept me going. It was hardest to keep painting when about two thirds was painted. Then there was a slight drop in the quality, but I managed keep on going.
Here is a full group shot of the lot in their natural habitat.
