Title: Pulp Alley Perk animal

Hello

Can I check that if I take the perk animal then the characters (of all levels) can be an animal for "free", or do you need the perk to have access to this ability as a character choice.

As a perk, Animal applies only to that character.  As a League Perk, it can apply to each and every member of your league as a "free" ability.

Just to clarify a little: Animal (singular) is a level 1 ability any character can take. Animals (plural) is a league perk that grants one or more characters on the roster the Animal (singular) ability for free. So within a league with the Animals (plural) perk, a Follower could take a level 1 ability as normal and the Animal (singular) ability for free on top of that, for example.
