Hi all,
My kids are getting old enough to play some simple games with. I have the solo deck and I'd like to have a play with them of PA. I've used simpler rules with them but I greatly prefer PA for these small skirmish games.
For those who have played with kids or younger people, have you made any changes to keep things simple? I like to make a little narrative for them and skew it in their favour, but not make it too easy. Or did you just run as normal?
I've bought the kids a few of their own minis so I though it would be a nice exercise for them to name their minis, decide what each is good at, maybe a little back story.

So I've done rosters for them, just 1 leader and 5 allies. I thought that was enough to keep it a bit simpler for them.
I'll basically umpire a narrative game for them - way better than staring at a screen and they have their own minis they've named

Actually I know the song from the Pearl Jam cover, I was a bit obsessed with them as a teenager :D

Better than the alternative!
I thinK PA is a fun kid friendly game. Not sure how old your kids are but I was always amazed at how much complexity my kids absorbed when they were young in their electronic games without ever blinking. With you as an umpire I would not be surprised they are able to absorb it as is.

I played a quick game of Pulp Alley with my nephews last month. They are 9 and 11. I thought they caught on really fast. They had three characters each but I didn't change any rules. They loved it and want to play some more.
