Bright colors and neat paintjob!
And bases well done, too!
-
Very crisp, nice job.
-
Thanks guys, mostly done with GW contrast paints

Very well done. One small criticism - which might be useful to anyone putting together marching plastic figures - is to avoid "tick-tocking". This is where the arm and leg on the same side of the body move forward together. It's actually very difficult to achieve when you try to do it, but surprisingly easy when you are trying to avoid it! You tend to see it done by real-life humans who only march occasionally and have not yet had the habit yelled out of them by a kindly, and well-meaning NCO.
Prior to modern times, troops never swung the arms when marching anyway and generally kept them by their sides, so straight up-and-down, or even angled slightly backwards is accurate.

thanks Baron, i did realize this after i built them but was too lazy to fix, probably could have hidden them in the back row, just noticed one or two have their muskets on the wrong shoulder too ! but i do like a little variation, the plastic British i find the better set IMHO

Splendid and clearly a lot of careful work. That is the size of unit I will be going for.

Very nice looking units :-*

Thanks guys

Yes this is the average size regiment of 4 bases, the grenadiers will be made into a large 6 base unit as the Grenadiers, Highlanders and Guards units were larger Regiments, for the Continentals 4 base units would be the norm

They look splendid, hope my "lobsters" turn out as smart as these brave chaps! My centre company Bns, will be 6x4 bases with the Highlander and Grenadier Bns either 7or 8 bases each, really so they match up with my oppo's already raised Continental army. Could I ask where you get your standards from, they are very impressive.

Nicely done, Skip.

thanks for the kind comments guys

Hi, the standards are 100mm lances/pikes from Northstar Miniatures but cut down to maybe 70-80mm, whatever looks right with GMB flags

Those look great, what size bases are you using ?
