Title: Abu's Infamy Project (Leaders added 4 January)

Auxilia (finishing the remainder later today) and the Wailing Women support option (in progress). Also planning to make up bases for the Sign of the Cock and the Gastronomix, but looks like some resourceful scratch building will be in order.

Auxilia spears now done, though I should go back and detail the grimacing guys' teeth. Only 1 unit needed for my EIR, so on to archers, the remainder of the legionaries, leaders. And possibly more nude dudes.

I believe the plastics and early metal WL legionaries are all done to match the original Foundry Perry sculpts, so are more like true 25mm. Aux are definitely 28s and they wouldn't mix well in the same unit. In their respective groups on the table they look fine to my eye. I don't have much else except what was lying around from when I made the original purchase to compare to, but the scale comparison pinned to the top fo the forum might be a good place to look for a better visual answer.

I won a box of the Warlord Auxilia years ago in a DBA competition and held onto it 'just in case' (as one does) so will give it to the kids for Xmas to go with their Victrix legionaries. I'll hold onto the wee legionaries and do them as a small unit.

Post by: Unlucky General on August 19, 2020, 08:20:42 AM: It strikes me that the Infamy Infamy rule set will spark off a lot of vignettes and terrain types (buildings etc) much more than larger scale battles becasue smaller actions can play through them. I love seeing how people are making miniature village life rebirth on the table-top.

This collections looks grand.

@UG - the vignettes are one of my favorite aspects of TFL projects. They add a real richness to the tabletop, IMO.

Finished the needed 6mm Velites for a big(-ish) Republican Roman army. Thinking AdG or possible Warwick Kinrade's new set of rules. (PSA: Never engage in unprotected velitio...) And about half of legion's worth of the rest of the troops. One day that line with be green, red. blue and yellow arcs the length of the frontage, ideally like a Peter Connolly illustration.

Great job on that dude! The helmet is fantastic! :-*

As for the 6mm folks... :o Very nice painting here. That phalanx looks tough as nails and the pikes are going to be magnificent when finished. The poor Romans are going to have their hands full fighting them! Republican Romans vs Carthaginians... some of the best ancient gaming to be had.

A little more progress over the last week or so... Getting to work on the Roman leaders/characters & table dressing type stuff. The artillery piece was the last of the force elements I have planned for now, so just some sentries and marching guys aside from the retinue members left to complete. Then on to more Gauls and other things Punic and Pyrrhic.

I've struggled to find slingers for the Gauls that I'm happy with, so defaulted to these old guys who were lingering in the lead pile.

First pass with the airbrush on this printed tower. The sentries need something to guard after. Haven't made any effort to disguise the z-banding yet, and maybe will go back and work on the surface finish. Nonetheless was curious to get a sense of how it will look on the table top.

Had a lot going on the painting table since my last post, but some of it is just now ready to share. Finished the rest of my auxiliary, though I'm awaiting decals. At some point WL changed their shield boss design, so my new decals don't fit my old shields. Got some replacements on the way.
