Title: Copplestone Castings 15mm Barbarica in print.
Post by: nicknorthstar on July 16, 2020, 06:22:24 PM
In the next issue of Wargames Illustrated, author Dan Mersey has worked with Mark Copplestone to introduce Barbarica to the game Dragon Rampant.

Is this the first time there's been anything related to Barbarica in print? I think it is.

In case you don't know what Barbarica is, it's Copplestone's 15mm Fantasy range: http://www.copplestonecastings.co.uk/list.php?cat=18&page=1 (http://www.copplestonecastings.co.uk/list.php?cat=18&page=1)

North Star are taking pre-orders for Wargames Illustrated now, it's released next week. I recommend if you're interested to book a copy now. Wargames Illustrated have reduced the print run post Lock Down, and the last issue sold out in two weeks. This issue has a free copy of Warlord Games' 'Victory At Sea' attached, nothing to do with 15mm Fantasy of course but it does mean this issue will go just as fast as the last one.

You can pre-order here: http://www.northstarfigures.com/prod.php?prod=14895 (http://www.northstarfigures.com/prod.php?prod=14895)

Oh, and it has a first look at Frostgrave II as well.

 Placed my order last night.

Any other 15mm miniatures for the range coming from Mark then Nick?

Would love to see some dwarf archers/crossbowmen to round out that range. And obviously Romans, characters and loads of other minis but ranged weapon dwarves would lend to the completeness of the range.

Are we likely to see anything else?

Mr Copplestone says so. I don't have any say in what's coming.

Brilliant news! I’m getting into 15mm in a big way and love the range.

I don’t think Mark needs to do the Romans, per se. But a character pack with some civilized heroes and wizards for us to add to our Roman armies would be great!

Heads up, the magazine has sold out with us already and we can't get anymore. And it hasn't even arrived yet.

Not only you...it’s also a great series, that has been on standby for far too long.

Just read the article, I’ve been basing mine individually but may have a go at multi-basing. Love a good scenic base!

Hoping we get to see some new additions to the range. Please do keep us up to date if/when they appear on the horizon!

I enjoyed the article. I'd like to see some personalities, and light crossbow, for the dwarves (something like the Pictish latch), and some Scottish Wildcats, only a little larger than real life to match the wolves in size. Then I could put my wolves with the forces of the sinking lands and put the cats in their place with my Northlanders  :P

FYI I have some rather large forces of all these figures, and the Ice Tribes, for HoTT. If the Romans ever make it then at least 120 points of them too ;D
