Hi,
I’ve now collected Greek and Italian/German armies for the invasion of Greece 1940/41
So I’m spurred on to keep going and considering, Partisan forces in Crete, German Fallschirmjager, and in particular New Zealand, British etc forces in Greece.
Firstly which theatre selector do you think I should use, I’m currently looking at the Commonwealth list.
Plus which figures? The Warlord Commonwealth plastic set?
I’m also interested in the British 3.7” howitzer, who makes this model?
Historical Formations for my force,
1st Armoured Brigade (with the howitzers)
2nd New Zealand Division
Also would these guys be in khaki colours or desert colours?
They were momentarily based in Egypt before shipping out to Greece and Crete?
Cheers

Empress make the 3.7" howitzer with an Indian crew. Uniform worn on Crete was a mixture of Service Dress and Desert uniform, cometimes a bit of both as the evacuation from Greece was somewhat hasty and some of the troops were sent from Egypt. Perry make some desert troops in long trousers with sleeves rolled up which would suit with the appropriate paint job. Crete's climate is better/milder and winter was almost over.

Thanks for the pointers.
So would Artizan 8th army be ok? Only these and Crusader are my favourite figures!
Maybe mix some early war Crusader miniatures in there too?
Good info on the Howitzer, I’ll go over and have a look.

Can’t find the howitzer??
-
It is in the "Jazz Age Imperialism" range.
Regards.

Got it! Thanks

Ok,
So I’m thinking New Zealand Division, using the Commonwealth list.
Figures I’ll probably go for, are Artizan 8th Army and Crusader Early War British.
I’m considering a couple of tanks, Cruiser A10’s, would these be used by the New Zealand units?

Don't think the Kiwis had any heavy armour in Greece
Brits had A9's not sure if any A10's made it across
-
Hey thanks TT,
I was looking at the BA Commonwealth list 1940/42 for building my army, but it doesn’t allow A9’s. I can take Valentine tanks?
Are my infantry choices in the right ball park do you think?

Hi Tim
Yup the infantry details you posted looks OK to me.
