Listening to the Little Wars podcast and the fellow from Osprey mentioned this ruleset. Has anyone out there tried it?

We played a lot of FoKF and had always tremendous fun with this fast play, over the top setting. It derives from the "song of blades and heroes" rules, with its own set of abilities for Hongkong-movie style action. Highly recommended!

It's a great game - possibly the very best iteration of the Song of Blades rules. We've only played it a few times, though, because of a lack of genre-appropriate miniatures. When we did play it, we used orcs as oni and lizardmen as 'scaly demons' of the Chinese sort, I think. Anyway, the games were loads of fun.

Never played, but owned the rules for a while - lots of rules for interactive scenery elements which look fun, but also require the relevant bits to use. All in all they looked reasonable, but I never got figures sorted out

I have a review here:

It has some good ideas, but your enjoyment depends on your tolerance for the Ganesha Games model.

Thank you!

It is a nice little rule set for cinematic battles. I have a small series of articles related to the game in my website.

I play 70s Kung Fu action w FFoKF. Tinkered w the rules a bit to pack in more special attacks every turn and to make characters more dynamic.
I love them!
