I've recently managed to get hold of the excellent plastic soldier company battle of britain grab bag.
This has 100 1/300 british and German early war planes.
What im after now is a rules set I can use them for. Ideally it'll be for multiple planes not a 1 on 1 dog fight.
I've had wings of glory recommend, I'm sure it's a great set however I don't want to bother with additional tokens and specialist bases. I'm more after a pick up and play game, nothing massively in depth. If there's any free to download pdfs that would be a real bonus.
Anyone have any suggestions?

Maybe "Check Your Six" though I'm pretty sure that's single planes. Maybe grab a hex mat and whip up some rules of your own?

Me and my buddies used this one: https://juniorgeneral.org/air/ww2fast.html

One of my friends uses the old cardboard wargame Mustangs (1991). He uses 1/300 scale airplane models, made some hex mats, made bases, and made altitude sticks out of small tubes. It's not too complicated. We've had lots of planes in the air at times. There is a page about the game on BoardGameGeek here:

Not free, but TFL's 'Bag the Hun' can handle multiple planes per side.

Also made to handle squadron sized games:

Flatpack is planning to use Fist Full of Lead's 'Star Ship battles' rules for mass WW2 airfights.
Could be worth a look. I am sure someone on LAF has already done a AAR on such a thing.
