Haven't played with little men for a while = not painted anything.
Ebay rides to the rescue and I score a great bargain on the White Man's Expedition Reinforcement box for Congo.
I had forgotten I quite enjoy painting so I'll finish the box and post the rest (might be a while yet though - powers of concentration are not what they used to be).
... and I'm looking forward to a game of Congo in some far off distant future when the world gets back to normal (so I have a wee bit of time to finish the beggars yet).

Cracking models these Congo lots, useful for a bit of Pulp Alley too.

Champion! It's always great to see someone come back to their hobby and discover they still find joy in it. A nice counterpoint to the times we read about painting slumps and lost mojo. Having experienced both, I would recommend the former rather than the latter. :)

Agreed. Welcome back to it. A good restart!
That lady has a winsome expression :)

Nicely done.

We all go through periods where we struggle to pick up a brush but once you do its all systems go. Love painting when I’m in the mood it’s so relaxing, and exciting when you’re happy with your work.
Well done, nice work with the figures after your painting break.

I like the archers the red lioncloths really pop.

Really nice work. 8)
The red clothing is a nice complement to the darker flesh tones which are great.

A nice comeback :-*

Thanks for the kind comments.
My normal caveats/excuses apply.
Magnified and under the glare of the flash they look to me like the the amateurish daubings of a demented Bob Ross done with a 4" house painters brush while suffering a severe case of the Delerium Tremens.
But at tabletop distance hidden amongst the sickly, plasticky glow of aquarium foliage and under a 40 watt dusty bulb in a darkened room when wearing the my wife's glasses they look OK to me.
There again, I have low standards but it makes me happy :)

That last one made me chuckle. :)
And you've achieved a lovely skin tone on those lads with... er, ...their lads out.
-
They look great and even better on the table. Poor Miss Peabody. lol
-
Excellent! I've been away from my Darkest Africa project for a very long time, these make me want to crack open the coffers. I still have some of the lads with their... lads hanging out. lol

lads with... er, ...their lads out.
To be clear, that took some very delicate dry brushing.

Looking good that a a nice little expedition you've got coming together there.
