Has anyone actually tried these rules from Warrior Miniatures/Over the Wire?
Are they any good or should I just stick with GASLIGHT? I have picked up quite a few miniatures from that range and never even considered the actual rules for it.

Rob, I think you are better off staying with gaslight , more people play it and it's still being supported. Saying that the rule set and the shadows over the Nile supplement are pretty good value as you get 10 figures in each set which are worth 8gbp so the rules are only 4gbp each( check the miniatures you get with them, most of the main rules ones are not suitable for my forces, too late in appearence). The fluff in the rules is quite interesting to read but it's more Edwardian/ ww1 in feel than Victorian. I read through the rules some time ago and all I remember is that it's a squad based system.

I've got a set of the rules but read them years ago. If I remember you could easily get a quick squad based skirmish out of them. Unfortunately I came across GASLIGHT before using them but now you've got me curious again. Now where are they...............................
-
I'll have to get hold of it then, if it's a cheaper way of getting minis!!!
We'll see. I'm interested in the background. :)

Hi Rob,
I have both sets of rules lurking around somewhere - I bought them years ago and only read them. If you are interested in them PM me.

I am interesed too!!!

I like mixing and matching rules so I would be very interested in everyones opinions on these rules. Currently my VSF universe is played with a mix of Space 1889, Soldiers Companion from Space 1889 and Gaslight. I just got a copy of Savage Worlds Showdown for more ideas today.

Ahh cool!
Just waiting on a PM now. :)

I have to say like the minis they have a lot of character to them.

They certainly do. They paint up a dream too. :)

Blast you rob_alderman ;)
.... and having seen Thunderchicken's beautifully painted minis, I thought I would dig mine out of the long term storage and photograph them. It's amazing looking back at your painting style from 15 years ago.

Too kind Ramirez but my fellas are one shade wonders, not even a hint of highlighting. My early days of 25mm painting. Yours look great!
-
They all look great!
I will really have to post up some pics soon, so far I've only done the basecoats though, so they're rather embarrassing!!!! lol

It's a start old chap. ;)
I've been looking for those rules today, I didnt lend them to anyone did I? ::)

Thanks Thunderchicken - mine are similar, painted 15 years ago when my only shading colour was black.
Thanks Rob - looking forward to seeing your finished minis in due course.
