Looking good - are you planning on using the wizkids aliens with them?

Thank you sir. Sadly, I can't find affordable horrorclix aliens. GW genestealers.

I remember seeing plastic Khorne Bloodletters converted as Aliens...

Evidence that the world will implode soon, oh deary me...
Though I have to say that the space hulk set was a pretty good bargain.

Excellent stuff! The dropship is great (I have the very same one for Star Mogul, but sadly it's still in the box...), and the marines are perfect. Are they Copplestone troopers? Terrain looks absolutely great too. Damn fine work!
-
Thank you sir! Copplestone Jungle Troopers. I'm paying homage to my favourite movies via art:painting, layout and photography.
So far on this website I have enjoyed partly reconstructing:
Raiders of the Lost Ark
Pulp Fiction
From Russia with Love
Hammer Horror
Tales from the Crypt
Tha Man with the Golden Gun
Goldfinger
Terminator
Terminator 2
Predator
Predator 2
Wild West
It's been emotional.
-
Please go on :)
-
Game over, man. Game over.
-
gorgeous stuff!

gorgeous stuff!
Thank you sir. Will resume this project soon.
-
Love the dropship, I haven't seen one painted for 'real life' before (rather than 40-cartoon-hammer-thingy). I might have to get one of them.
Your copplestones look great as well.
-
Thank you sir!

Very nice looking. Oner minor point, as its my fave film character, its Vasquez, not Valesquez.
Drake" Vasquez your'e just too bad"
-
Great looking stuff, very much tempting me to make a colonial marine squad of my own.
The only negative I can see is no Apone on the poll?
;)
He would have made my choice of Hudson a little harder.

Mine too. I had a serious crush on her first time I saw the film.

Vasquez
Picky, picky, picky... :)
-
Apone...
"... Bay 12, Please!"
-
I really love these movie-based projects, and this one is very cool. I've seen your James bond threads, but I don't recall the Hammer Horror one. Any chance for a link?

Very kind of you. Apone was brilliant.

Vasquez
Picky, picky, picky... :)
Have you ever been mistaken for a man?
No...have you?
-
Bishop: I'm sorry if I scared you. That platform was just becoming too unstable. I had to circle and hope that things didn't get too rough to take you off.
Ripley: Bishop, you did okay.
Bishop: I did?
Ripley: Oh, yeah.
lol
"Have you ever been mistaken for a man? "
Vasquez: "No, have you?"
-
I have to say that for me it was somewhere between Drake and Vasquez, and not just because they were packing the big guns. ;)
That terrain is looking pretty awesome. You should get some more shots of the structures for us.
-
Will try.
I actually felt sorry for Gorman. Throughout the movie he fluffs everything up even though he tries to project a competent image. I especially found it very moving at the end when he attempts to rescue Vasquez but ultimately fails in doing so. Added to that, she does not acknowledge him for his bravery.
Capone was brilliant as a father figure whose role is quickly snuffed out, thereby decapitating the group leadership.
Hudson is my personal favourite. He's a snivelling coward who shields himself with sarcasm, but deep down he's heroic and gets on with the job when pushed.
-
Excellent stuff. ....... I didn't realize that I needed a Valkyrie/Vulture until now. :'( lol

Yeah I always felt really sorry for him too. He's totally out of his depth, but at the very end shows that he is just as much of a hero as the rest.
I disagree about her not acknowledging his bravery though. The way she says "You always were an asshole, Gorman" right at their end to me always felt like it was in a very military taking the piss respectful/friendly way which showed she didn't think he was so bad after all and that he was now one of the group.

Heh, this may surprise some people. I had a crush on her too, btw, the bad-ass Marine chick!

Hudson was not a coward, you'll see that he was at the end of his tour and getting short, as with marines ending their tours in nam, they would get twitchy, refer to themselves as bullet magnets, see things as bad omens and generally psych out! This is what Hudson was experiencing, it was the marine training that kicked back in.
Sgt Apone (he's not an Italian American gangster you know! ::)) was one of my own personal favourites in the film, gunny through and through:
Apone: All right, sweethearts, you're a team and there's nothin' to worry about. We come here, and we gonna conquer, and we gonna kick some, is that understood? That's what we gonna do, sweethearts, we are going to go and get some. All right, people, on the ready line! Are ya lean?
Marines: Yea!
Apone: Are ya mean?
Marines: Yea!
Apone: WHAT ARE YOU?
Marines: Lean and mean!
Apone: WHAT ARE YOU? HUDSON! Get on the ready line, Marines, get some today! Get on the ready line! Move it out! Move it out, goddammit! Get hot! One, two, three, four! Get out, get out, get out! Move it out, move it out, move it out! Move it out, move it out, move it out! One, two, three, four, five, six, seven! Aaarrrrr, absolutely badassess! Let's pack 'em in! Get in there!
Now I suggest that as pennance for getting the names wrong you buy some reference material and are forced to watch aliens again today! :D
The Commander

This is absoloutley superb, keep it coming!

Alas, I only paint :(
There's a company called Chapterhouse Studios that makes "Xenomorph heads" for use with GW minis (specifically Tyranids, but could be used with Bloodletters). I have a couple of sets - they're quite nice in the actual, uh, resin.
Here's a linky:

Not me. I have the quadrilogy, and they certainly stressed what they had to do to make her look proper. That joke about how Vasquez 'thought she heard illegal alien and signed up' is a reference to when the actress showed up for the audition for the movie thinking it was actually about unwanted immigrants. lol

Hey, Navarro's ymgarl stealer heads are finally available. :D
-
These new Space Hulk Genestealers are great sculpts and your paintjob is cool too.
-
I will take some more photos when the next batch of Marines is finished - that keeps me motivated to paint.
If you like the Sci Fi Interior, take a look at this thread:
