Title: Compiled list of Fallout Miniatures
Post by: Malebolgia on November 25, 2010, 10:04:15 AM
EDIT
I am building an Excel sheet with all of the links in it. This way we have EVERYTHING in one single file. I have uploaded the file into Google Docs and made it accessible and workable for everybody. You can find the file here:

Hey,

There are a lot of Fallout projects in this forum. I thought it was a good idea to compile all links to suitable miniatures in one topic, so it's easy to find.

I've done the list in a 'puritanical' way, so I've taken the miniatures which resemble the different characters from the group as good as possible (so the Bauhaus guys as Brotherhood and Kryomek Swats as

Enclave).
If you have other suitable links or links to your conversions or suitable buildings, please post them and I'll edit this post so we get a topic which gives lots of information for people who want to start a Fallout

project 8)

Here's the list with my first links:

Good idea to start this list!

RAFM make two figures that would be ideal for raiders:

As well as a suitable wastelander or Lone Wanderer:

The Outlaws from Black Scorpion Miniatures wild west range look perfect for regulators:

Oh my god.

I have been avoiding getting in to doing a fallout project of any kind, partly because of the complexity of finding minis. well there goes that excuse... :(

Scenery etc,
http://www.copplestonecastings.co.uk/range.php?range=KKB (http://www.copplestonecastings.co.uk/range.php?range=KKB)
Loads of doors vaults etc
Of particular interest,
KKBBX2 Missile Silo Control Room Set
KKBBX4 Power Room
KKBB323 Large and Small Safes
KKBB413 Interior Blast Door
KKBB412 Outer Blast Door
and of course
EQ1 Bank Vault Door

enjoy :)

... Also might be nice to have some suggested rule systems.

If anyone who has played a fallout game with one they find good let us all know?

As for rules, I've written a short (6 pages) mod for Legends of the Old West. Anybody interested can drop me a PM with an e-mail address and I'll send you a copy of the PDF.

Also, there is the very detailed and, in concept, rather sound "Fallout Warfare" ruleset. This is available at various websites as a (legal, IIRC) download, for example at http://fallout-rpg.narod.ru/Warfare.html. Much more complex than my own approach, with lots of stats and detailed figure profiles worked out already, but primarily focused on Fallout and Fallout II. Also, it is "quasi-official", in that it originally was a "goodie" included in one of the PC games (I think it was Fallout II or Tactics) and written by members of the PC design team.

Hi Chris,

please send me a copy too - I'm trying to avoid this Fallout business as well as I can, but wouldn't mind reading through them.

Id like one please. Also If tried that link a few times now and it either doesnt download or when it does its all jiberish! Thought Id let you know in case someone got someway to fix it Thanks for the ideas everyone this is awesome!

Worked for me, I'll email you the pdf.

Me, I am going to GM Fallout as a roleplaying game, probably using BRP rules. And miniatures, naturally!  ;)

Sent you an E-Mail. As for the Fallout Warfare rules, you did notice that the downloads are in a compressed format (RAR)? You will need a suitable decompression program to unpack them, but if Marko can send you the PDF, you should be fine.

Another option for power-armoured BoS figures would be these:

Living Fantasy "Township Troopers" (http://www.living-fantasy.de/epages/61848674.sf/de_DE/?ObjectPath=/Shops/61848674/Products/LF-10011)

I painted the figures for the store, and also have about a platoon's worth of the three poses available (mainly the guy with the automatic rifle thingie) which I got as payment for the commission (also painted a lot of other figures for the store). I planned to use them for BoS, but I'm not quite sure since I've since committed myself to the "modified Nexus SWAT" approach.

Overall, I like the figures. The surfaces are a bit rough, attaching them is a bit tricky (no cast-on bases OR slottatabs), in some areas, the detail is a bit soft (but nothing critical), and the standard bearer could do with some re-posing. For what you get, compared to most UK companies, they are quite pricey (currently 12,95 Euros for the three). Similar in style and quality to some figures in the old Spacelords line, for those who remember.

Mainly wanted to list them for the sake of completeness

Urban Mamoth's Viridian range is good for NCR and Enclave troopers (non power armored), the male Junkers and Gladiators are useful for Caesers Legion (only slave women in the Legion) and the Yakusa line could be useful for anyone wanting to play Fallout China :P

Hi, the pics you linked are from the old Future Warriors range, most of which is also available from EM-4 (and linked in various of the posts); there, you can buy them as singles (at pretty much the same price), but are not limited to the sets on offer by Mirliton.

I didn't spot that!

I think there are a few that EM4 don't carry though and vice-versa, hopefully they are all covered now!

Thanks for including the Crooked Dice Minion Mob in the list!

Just to let you know that they are released this week - Wednesday 01 December - but you can pre-order now. Three miniatures of one type (Armed or Unarmed) are available with a choice of Alien or Human set of 3 heads for £8. Heads sprues and Bodies can be bought separately.

I love those Ratnik figures...  :-*

The Fallout Wargame Rules are available (for free), from the Public Servers at No Mutants Allowed (http://www.atomicgamer.com/files/28736/fowrules-zip#). It's a zip file, but it does work and is malware free. The finished product is a PDF.

For the Kings, Brigade Games (http://www.brigadegames.com/category/BGADVAC57.html) do the 8th Street Greasers too. Painted here by our very own Grimm.

They are available in packs with or without the mutant.

There is a good chance that Vault Dwellers in combat are likely to wear Vault Security Armour:-

for which we can use most figures in Riot Gear:-

If you have a problem with the final products probably worth you contacting Ben or Jo st Black Cat directly dude, they are very helpful with issues.

Otherwise like all metal minis they will require some degree of cleanup.

What is wrong with more clothed raiders used put them under clothed raiders or wastelanders perhaps instead. I think that this thread should consider more than the fallout 3 style fallout. Raiders in the other fallout games could be more dressed up if you will.  ;)
It is your thread but since it is called Fallout miniatures not fallout 3 miniatures I think that a bit less puritanism as you called it in the original post would be a good thing  :D
No offense meant.

Likewise... I also think we should be slightly less puritanical about figures. I'm a major Fallout fan but, I'd prefer my raiders to be a bit more sensible with their clothing (it is after all supposed to be colder than before the War) and perhaps leave the Mohawk hairstyles (have you ever found styling wax on an adventure?) behind too. The Monk figures could easily be 'Children of the Cathedral' etc if you prefer.

I'd like to see figures 'in the style of' Fallout, rather than exact matches, but then each to their own.  :)

Yup there's a lot of Fallouty goodness there. I posted a link earlier (http://www.vitruvianzeke.com/coppermine/index.php (http://www.vitruvianzeke.com/coppermine/index.php))to a guy who has made vaults with these for convention scenarios of Mutants and death ray guns. The machinery molds make for a lot of things with a good fallout feel. The molds are easy to work with but time consuming.

Think the Brits from Westwind's Secrets of the Third Reich range would make pretty decent NCR Troopers, their WW2 range have separate heads that include berets and non-gas mask brodie helmets. (Useful since the Troopers are meant to be based on WW1 Brits!)

Good addition to the topic! Must update the first post soon.

In addition, saw a great link elsewhere on the LAF.
In many places in Fallout you can see telegraph poles. example:

West Wind sells some excellent telegraph poles...they're not expensive, made from lead/pewter and look excellent! Make sure to use weighted bases though as I can imagine they can be heavy.

West Wind also sells white metal oil drums:

Hi,

I would advise against using Infinity miniatures, they are true 25mm and way too small/thin to be used with most of the other 28mm companies.

That has surprised me... I somehow thought that they might be much bigger than the bulk of figures for some reason. I've never seen them compared in a picture, but the site pics give that impression to me for some reason.  :?

Disagree here. They are not true 25mm (like the old Ral Partha miniatures), they are more like true 30mm miniatures with realistic proportions. Size-wise they match up well with other manufacturers, but they are much thinner.

I have to agree here.  I have a bunch of them and they scale up fine with most of my other 28mm.  They are not 25mm at all.

And a new version of my Fallout rules is done! I'm at V6 now...all the group lists have been implemented. Next up:
*Character stats (note that although the force lists are done, I haven't done the character stats!)
*Value of all the equipment
*Effects of some random equipment

Then it's almost done. Shouldn't take too long.

You should just fully embrace the dark side and produce more Vault-friendly figures. Or meet us half-way with something like these guys without the helmets;

The Minion figures are tempting, though more choice of human heads would sell me on them, especially if 'pompadour', 'buzz cut' and 'flat-top' hair-styles were amongst those choices.

Nice work Malebolgia!
A very nice read, but I will probably do some houserules for my game
You mention supermutant behemoths a few times, how would you stat them up?
Foodwise I guess I would have the behemoth need the double or tripple amount of food compared to a normal supermutant.
Statswise, I have to think about it a bit more I guess. Another thing I would like to include would be normal ghouls for wasteland survivors perhaps or as a gang of their own.

I'd guess the large door is just a common gear carved into foam or something. The smaller one looks like it's from #302 (http://hirstarts.com/scifi/scifi3.html) (cargo bay accessory).

The large vault door is a cast from an old fischer-price toy according to the gentlmen that built the vault in question, VitruvianZeke of the hirst arts forum.

Important Update!

I have started by making an Excel sheet with ALL of the links in it, categorized by worksheet. This way we have everything in one big file.
I uploaded it to Google Docs and made it editable for everyone. So other people can also edit and change things. This way the file becomes a real community file :)

You can find the link in the first post. I'll be updating it too.

**Edit**
The following are now done:
-Vault Dwellers
-Raiders
-Enclave
-Talon Company

I hope they will be ready for sale in late January. But this is not 100% info.
Delays with casting company can make adjustments to this date.

Also sculpting of super mutant is complete and he is gone to casting.

I'd have thought guys and gals in vault suits would be pretty popular.

They seem to be the first thing people paint up, and none of the other 'counts as' minis are a patch on what Mr. Vinni could do.

When conversion packs for first five models will be ready, another BOS character in t-51b armor will be made.  After him in the queue will be vault dweller miniature.
But I dont think this will happen until march-april of next year.

Sorry, but this is highly unlikely to happen for a lot of economical reasons. :(

That seems to be the problem, doesn't it.
I'm guessing we'll have to buy sometimes, because at the rate they're making 'em, we could always keep waiting for the next model to surface before  placing an order  ::)

I actually think I prefer the vault suits from Fallout 3 these days:-

Quote
Designing, or redesigning the vault suit meant adhering to canon, and updating the textures and tactile feel for the detail we can achieve now in games. I opted for a more durable denim like material, something quintessentially American and, suited to carrying out vault tasks involving heavy machinery and crawling through metal pipes.

Overall, the vault suit seems to represent an Everyman/Everywoman uniform of conformity, and a blank canvas for accessorizing once the wearer had escaped into the harsh environment of the wasteland. Preserving the retro 50’s flavor seemed to support this, and I wanted the suit to feel at home in a classic 50’s sci-fi film like Forbidden Planet. The reinforced elbows and knees seemed to introduce a bit of that flair to the otherwise oppressively Orwellian environment.

Cutting the suit from heavy denim makes for a far more practical garment. Although I do like that concept art more than the actual in-game model.

Oh its an ok design and all (aside form the belt)  I probably just suffer from "oldversionisbetteritis" since I grew up playing the originals  ;D

Ideally ordinary Wild West tribals would be better for most of the other tribes, but with more modern firearms imo. The Black Feet were a mix of ex-US Army, sons of ranchers and Native Americans, hence the mix of uniform and native dress working for me. The background fluff has them all as just primitive tribals with different markings and few guns though. Painted up with a mixture of hair colour and complexions, they'd look the part regardless.

I think they're great looking figures though, very PA!  :)

Yes, hopefully in the future there will be some bots.
But it will take a long time, as making conversion kits project takes more time then expected. With brother Vinni getting to much other sculpting projects on his hands. :(
First conversion kit is almost ready, people interested in BoS will be quite happy to see this  kit  ;)
I`l post some previews of the kit in near future.

I wanted to let you guys know that we are about to start production!
Here are the masters I created, Sunset Sarsaparilla, Nuka Cola,magazine/newspaper vending, and medkit
(http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a13/dsteingass/IMG_5191.jpg)

And here is the first prototype resin casting for the Sunset Sarsaparilla machine!
we will call it "evening rootbeer" to avoid getting sued ;)
The rear panel and compressor bitz are separate, optional bitz and fit both vending machines, and come with the machines (each soda machine is 3 pieces)

They will be sold through http://rivetzone.com/
not completely up and running yet, but getting there.
I expect the price point to be right around $10 for each machine

The bottles are already available for purchase at http://www.freewebstore.org/storepage1243732.aspx

This is all only possible through the collaboration of a bunch of talented people who hang out in the P&M blogs section of DakkaDakka.com forums
http://www.dakkadakka.com/wiki/en/The_League_of_Extraordinary_Riveters

What do you say? Anyone interested in these?

Hellz yes, so want and need (probably 2 of each), how much longer do we have to wait for the rivetzone page to be up and ready for orders?

Thanks!  :D

The Molds are being finished as we speak, then Galorn has his work cut out for him building a stockpile, We aren't professionals..not yet anyways ;) But if everything goes to plan, (knock on wood), Sunset Sarsaparilla could go up as early as next week sometime. I wish I could say "the release day will be.. blah", but no sorry. I love it personally, but wanted to see if this is something post-apoc gamers would dig?

Once all the pieces are produced, we'd like to sell the set at $30, give or take a buck or two ;)

Got My vending machines in the mail and had a great time painting them, but if I could make a suggestion, somewhere on the website have a link to a file containing images of the logos (Nuka and Sunset) that are pre-scaled for the miniatures.  I was able to make my own, but it could speed deployment if someone else already made them the "right size" already.
Title: Re: Compiled list of Fallout Miniatures
Post by: dsteingass on September 26, 2012, 01:35:10 PM
Thanks for the purchase and the love!
Well, we can't really sell those logos,(we think) they are copyrighted by Bethesda and we'd rather avoid any legal issues.  You wouldn't think we'd get sued over a minor item, but you just never know. However, I have ordered some clear laser printer decal paper, and will probably manipulate the images to have clear backgrounds and such, then I can always upload the images somewhere on the web and people can print their own.  I would LOVE to just throw a decal sheet into the shipments, but I dunno.

Thanks! Well, that is the closest I've seen, they ARE working/herding dogs, but not quite Australian Cattle dogs like Dogmeat.  I figured Reaper would've made one in one of their familiar packs, but I guess not.

I'm afraid that I wouldn't be able to identify an Australian Cattle Dog if one bit me.  Mega Miniatures has the broadest range of different dog breeds for 28mm.  Perhaps there might be something here?

Just a note, I contacted Brother Vinni with an order for these new Protectrons.  When I ordered my protectron I also linked to the running dweller and the vault armor pictures and asked for 1 of each.  Vinni said they were available for ordering and so was able to order those at the same time and save on shipping.  BUT...I advise waiting, he said the running dweller will be part of an upcoming set of 3 dwellers.  The Armor s/b on the website tomorrow.

Thanks for the heads-up greyseer, certainly didn't want to order a solitary protectron.

I still don't get what "vault armour" is supposed to be though

I can't help but think he'd have found T-51b much more popular

Yeah, looking at the helmet it is definitely more T-51B than Hellfire. Comparing it to the image found here:
The only thing that throws me is the knee pads.
Th rest will be covered up by the minigun.
Personally I am excited for this model as my players are about to find some Power Armor and one wields a mini-gun so this combination is a win for me.

I've found that arms from Wargames Factory's Greatcoat Shock Troops work really well with Brother Vinni's Wasteland Sniper mini. But the conversion packs are really needed for both the BoS figs and Super Mutants IMHO, I haven't found parts to use with them yet.

My guess is if you were building army lists from factions (so B.o.S, Ghouls, NCR, Vaulters, Enclave, Super Mutants).  Having a few guys in Power Armor might make it balanced for the Vaulter Faction.
I have to wonder if someone is driving BVs sequence of models, as he does sculpt on demand work.

Good point on the sculpt to demand angle

In my rules anyway the BoS has been beaten by low-tech forces, just a case of having the right numbers

Same as before. That's the only unfortunate part for me. GW plastics aren't that hard to convert though. Replacing the Autoguns with TAG weapons might do the trick.

Look for Studio Miniatures multi-part plastic zombies. I've been putting some together lately and they're a good scale to most 28mm models. Hand swaps are easy, and then you've got a well-dressed human, ready with a mangled face.

Can buy individual sprues of 4 zombies for £3, too.

There is a new male plastic multipart post-apocalyptic survivors kit from wargames Factory:
http://wargamesfactory.com/webstore/dark-futures/apocalypse-survivors-men
I have bought three boxes and apart for the hoodies they make excellent Fallout wastelanders in pre-war clothes

For Super-mutants I am converting the multipart Zvezda Orcs who have the correct proportions for Super Mutants apart from the heads which I have sculpted replacements for.
http://www.modelwarehouse.biz/catalog.php/modelwarehouse/dt81736/pd1918087/ZVE8808

I have some images of my super mutant conversions, but until I figure out how to insert my photos on posts, I cannot upload them.

I also have a blog with several Fallout posts: http://wargamescorner.blogspot.co.uk/

I like the Scotia Grendel VOID 1.1 Junkers and Viridian plastic sprues.  They're pretty cheap, make great security force looking minis for any advanced groups that may have survived an apocolypse and are good for using to kit-bash conversions.

Scotia Grendel just posted color "exploded views" of these plastic troopers at the following links:

http://www.scotiagrendel.com/Products/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=0&products_id=2850

http://www.scotiagrendel.com/Products/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=0&products_id=2851

The Junkers minis especially have a bit of that over-the-top Mad Max feel to them, at least they do to me.

Hello,

I hope im ok posting here, i didnt want to start a new thread.

I was wondering if anyone had some suggestions for Wasteland creatures from Reaper. My LGS can order in Reaper stuff and id prefer to do buisness in the store i play in VS online if at all possible.

Im looking for suggestions for the following creatures.

- Molerats
- Mirelurks (long shot)
- Vicious Dogs
- Rad Roaches
- Rad Scorpions (Im thinking the Dust Scorpions would work for this)
- Bramin
- Bloat flies

I know this is a long shot but i was hoping i could get some of these from Reaper. What i cant get ill be forced to scratch build or purchase elsewhere.

Thanks!

Andrew

Molerats no idea
The Dust scorpions work for small Rad scorpions, they are about a little less than an inch long.
Mirelurks , nothing I have seen.
Dogs Undead hounds, guard dogs depending on how picky you are, for me any dog that looks vicious or starved works.
Rad roaches the closest from reaper is their beetles of diffrent kinds, but I have not found any good roach models from any manufacturer, the closest are plastic toys.
Brahmin, nothing from reaper, the best ones are from armorcast or made from 1:48 plastic cows.
Bloat flies once again, nothing for reaper, unless you want a huge one, then the Fly demon might work. Armorcast does a set of three ok ones.

Sorry I could not be more helpful, perhaps someone else has better sugestions.

As stated by Anpu, I don't think you'll get much from the reaper line for creatures.  I think it's up above somewhere in the thread, but Armorcast makes a Brahmin (Mootant Cow) and Bloat Fly (Giant Mutant Fly)

http://armorcast.com/store/product_info.php?cPath=116_98_152&products_id=1533 (http://armorcast.com/store/product_info.php?cPath=116_98_152&products_id=1533)

They also make a supermutant centaur, Yao Guai, and radscorpion:

http://armorcast.com/store/product_info.php?cPath=116_98_152&products_id=1534 (http://armorcast.com/store/product_info.php?cPath=116_98_152&products_id=1534)

For Mole Rats, the closest things I've seen that I like are Hasslefree's Mawes:

I think you mean Black cat... I like that one better as a scuritron myself  as well, but il like this one too, just not as a securitron for me. The style fits fallout robots very well though so I like it too. It has a distictly more military look at the same time it almost feels like a compressed version.

Excuse me any of  these have already been suggested.

In my own games these function as Brotherhood of Steel Knights in Advanced Combat Armour.

As for NCR I use these guys. Considering that the NCR Troopers are based partly off Anzacs you can get away with using them as is, though sculpting on some armour doesn't take much. They don't have quite the sci-fi look of other miniatures suggested in this thread, but I prefer the more low-tech style.

http://www.grippingbeast.com/shop.php?CatID=304

In the case of Super Mutants these are pretty good stand ins, if you can ignore the hair (though various head options are available, and some are easier to clean up than others. They have a nice bodged together armour style that fits the aesthetic.

http://www.manticgames.com/mantic-shop/kings-of-war/ogres.html

Games Workshop's Lord of the Rings range is full of models that can be easily converted to the post apocalyptic setting.

http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/landing.jsp?catId=cat970019a&rootCatGameStyle=lotr

I use a mix of Corsairs and Haradrim to represent wasteland settlers. Swap out some of the shields for pistols and bows/spears for shotguns/rifles.

Round off their helmets and add some goggles and the Uruk-hai Scouts become raiders dressed in riot gear and tattered cloth.

With some work these Morannon Orcs can be turned into Reavers from Fallout: Tactics

Cannibalistic Tribals anyone? Hunter Orcs from The Hobbit range.

But those are just what I use them for, there's plenty of other miniatures there that are ripe for converting. ^^

Super mutant:

Yao Guai:
http://www.reapermini.com/OnlineStore/02817/sku-down/02817#detail/02817_G- bit of a stretch but it would work

Ghouls:

Raider:

His other items (crates of various sizes, plus another, smaller, toilet) are also available through his thread (http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/582046.page#6580426) too. He's intending to make other Fallout inspired objects like a bath and sink, plus some scatter objects, but is open to suggestions on other pieces.

Ground Zero Games do a selection of 25mm miniatures (though they fit in with 28mm easily). Amongst them are some fellows in environmental suits, survivalists, swat teams, robots, red necks, and well loads of pulpy models. Their site isn't the best, but there may be something interesting in there for people. Ah, and the images aren't great either, but they can be painted up quite well if you're willing.

Sorry, i dont get the sarcastic tone in this post. Usually he gets blasted for the nekkid females he sculpts. He does something that cant possibly be mistake for said nekkid female sculpt and he gets the above comment. What is wrong with the Crawler Cyborg? A bubble dome would have been nice but not necessary since the head is wearing a breather mask. :-)

I was referring to Vinni occasionally oddly deviating from the original designs. Like I said, replacing the dome with a head was presumably because he didn't want to sculpt the dome, I donno. It wouldn't have been because of any IP infringements. I mean the guy doesn't give a damn for anyone's IP until the owners pull him up for it (like with the XCOM minis and a few others). I wasn't being sarcastic mind you. When I said that a brain could be sculpted I was referring to myself, not him. He could've sculpted a brain himself easily, but he chose to go for the head instead, for whatever reason.

Whatever, I have two ordered in any case.

Nah. The troll was available for a short term, but was quickly removed. I think Vinni also had other Xcom miniatures in the works too. Who know what he'll do with them. Most of the stuff he makes is for commissions, they just appear on his web store as it provides a discount to the commissioner if he retails copies. However I don't know whether someone's been commisioning his Nuclear Sandlot range, as its rather a large number of models, and Vinni isn't cheap.

Oh and DELTADOG, I may well take you up on snatching a pair of those brains. Tune into my thread (whenever the horrible Russian shipping delivers my order) for the mating of the two. ^^'

Abberant Games seem to have some usable models. These two strike me easily workable with Fallout though. They have a whole post apocalyptic range in 20mm (I think the models below are 28mm), but I've found that some of the vehicles work with 28mm too.

Another company's going into postapocalyptia, it would seem Raiders and mutants in particular. A Spanish company named Bad Roll Games has a range called Punkapocalyptic. They're 30mm, so around Eden/Infinity scale, but not so out that they couldn't work with 28mm. Now the company hasn't released these yet (as of 09/05/14), but they should be out soon. As ever I'm posting these here as I'll probably forget about them, and well for everyone else's perusal.

Ainsty Castings:

Ainsty Castings make a range of scenery bits that work with the post apocalyptic setting, however I'll bring attention to a few pieces in particular. Ainsty also makes Mad Max style cars as part of their vehicle range, and modern-ish diners, fuel stations, and storage lots, amongst others.

http://www.ainsty-castings.co.uk/

* Computers (I don't see these listed on the main site, but at shows at least Ainsty carries models listed as "Retro Monitors" which are essentially the terminals from Fallout 3- both desk and wall mounted. If you want them I'd send Ainsty an email and they should be able to supply you with them)

That's a desk mounted one sitting on top of one my scratch built office desks (Ainsty makes a set similar to the metal ones in Fallout 3)

* Reception Desk (an alternative Vault Overseer's desk)

* Space Suits (I'll be placing these about engineering areas as stand in for enviromental suits)

Renedra:

Renedra make some civil war era American buildings. Whilst 1/56th, they work with 28mm (ok, I just prefer 1/48th, sue me). They also make a set of tents suitable for Caesar's Legion, and a desert dwelling similar to the ones from the original games.

4GroundGames

This company has a selection of laser cut mdf pieces. This includes enough to make a western town, along with a accessory bits. Great for those looking to make the wastelands of the Mojave and elsewhere.

Colonel Bills, Commando Miniatures and Scheltrum

For those looking for loose weapons for converting their models these companies offer packs. I mention these no just for convenience, but Commando Miniatures makes one particular set of AR-15 which would be great for NCR Service Rifles (most other loose sets use the more modern rounded foregrips and extended magazines, whereas that set have the blocky Vietnam era one).

They're a friendly £5 each (6.16eur/ $8.41) and ideally need a 50mm base. I post anywhere. c:

On that note, the dragon is unavailable for now due to mold issues (Anyone who had bought any, apologies for that mess at the shoulders - my first mold taught me a hell of a lot!)
I'll be taking the opportunity to recast his arms and create a different pose for them, too. c:

Good to hear you'll be working on the Dragon again. Perhaps going for a running pose maybe? I'll pick up a second if once the mold's are up again probably. Do you have a list of available models and their prices that you could post in this thread perhaps, just for ease?

For those looking for some bathroom fixture's for their retro-futuristic post-apocalyptic (...eugh, what a wordy genre. Fallout for short) scenery, Dr H, a user on Dakka Dakka, has put together some more bits.

At the moment he's selling; two kinds of toilet, a sink, a bath and a hand dryer, all of which (bar one of the toilet's) bears a resemblance to the ones featured in Fallout 3/New Vegas. He's intended to make some more bits if sales pick up, so throwing money his way is always appreciated. Send him a private message if you're interested. Prices and more images can be found by following the link below.

* Ah, and mind how out of scale Games Workshop Space Marines are. These actually fit in pretty well with 28mm (non-heroic) minis. =P

The mold's running wonderfully so you can call it a release.

But it has a warning, each limb comes in separate segments. Elbows and knees need pinning.
The fit isn't hard to get right but I've found as I have built my own first three that some works needs to be done on the hips to get the thigh segments sitting nicely for the right posture.

...It's easy work, mind. Just a deeper hole than what's already there drilled in a few mm above the original but eh.
Still bugs me to have to make you guys put in effort that you shouldn't have to.  ;)

Sooo, you got any spare Deathclaw heads?

The Brother Vinni head reminds me more of 40k Orks than a Deathclaw. Will still probably get one, provided I can score a head from Messyart, with his far more accurate version.

Brother Vinni in general seems to be moving away from complete accuracy, as evidenced by the Robobrain before it. I guess the whole X-Com thing spooked him, and understandably so.

..I did just re-make the mold for the head and tail.
Yea, I like this one. It's more textured (Which is what I wanted to do but got lazy at the end of that year-long sculpting process...) but the anatomical differences... Bug me. As well as having competition from someone pretty nicely established in the Fallout market. :P

Looking at the angles in the other pictures he provides, it's starting to remind me of the classic Fallout 'Claws. Not sure if that's enough to get me to keep the head; I prefer the newer Deathclaw design, as I find it a bit more intimidating.

Still, ordered one as well. Can never have enough scaly beasts of doom.

And I should really snap a picture of the painted Messyart Deathclaw.

Vinni made a Muton and I think he may have had others planned, but he had to remove it from his site due to legal issues (he probably still has the molds though, not saying you could email him behind the site to get a hold of one...).

To avoid that issue he's gone so far as to create a new head for the Robobrain (saying make your own brain if you want one, they're not that hard). With the Deathclaw the promotional images don't have the Deathclaw head or tail, and as Messyart said even when everything's put together the proportions and details are different from the one in the game. The problem with that though is that people want to have minis as close to the originals as possible, so Vinni (who previously made pretty accurate sculpts) making models which are starting to only have a passing resemblence to those might start losing out to the alternatives.

I'm sort of all right with that thing, but I'd need to see it scaled against another model as its looking a bit small to me (that might just be the images though). Whenever Vinni releases something next that interests me then maybe I'll pick this one up, but for the moment its not doing enough for me to throw money at it (and well I already have another giant lizard serving in the same role).

Also tail isn't spelled tait... =P

Title: Re: Compiled list of Fallout Miniatures
Post by: Wyrmalla on November 18, 2014, 05:55:22 AM
The new game. I did a search for Vinni XCom and noticed that his stuff had received a bit more publicity than normal (ie not just forum posts). I guess it hitting mainstream mini sites put it on the company's radar so they did something about it (Bethesda probably knows about his stuff too, it just doesn't see a reason to do anything about it right now for some reason. Given that they took Mojang to court over just using the word Scrolls in a game's name I don't know what that says about their legal department, ah, but this is a bit OT).

The Muton was up for sale for a bit, but I don't remember seeing the Sectoid on the shop (it probably did go up, but was taken down quickly).

Someone's taken "inspiration" from another post-apocalyptic board game's concept art.

Yup I'd have some of those. They're a bit hit and miss, but I guess people don't need to pick up all of them or can't just do a bit of conversion themselves. The height difference doesn't look to be too extreme that they couldn't just be put down as being tall. I'd rather the models were tall than too small, as long as the proportions aren't completely out of whack (these look slim enough). =P

Another one of my image dumps. I know they aren't models strictly, rather inspiration and what not. Not my own folder of crap (that yes I've been meaning to post an updated link to, but my internet's too crap to upload all the new images to that dropbox right now), rather this is ton of images from back when I used to chuck about the Fallout 3 Nexus.

http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/10908/?tab=3&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Ffallout3%2Fajax%2Fmodimages%2F%3Fuser%3D0%26id%3D10908%26gid%3D120

This guy collected together images that could be used as inspiration for Fallout mods, which were generally aimed at giving the game a bit more depth. Predictably nobody made anything from them and just carried on with their nudie and anime mods. However I always found them interesting, so someone was nice enough to hook me up with a link to these images when I asked over on that site's forums (literally minutes after posting too).

So enjoy twenty one compressed files packed with images ordered by their various categories. In other words there goes my weekend as I sift through these things...

And as I'm posting compressed image folders available on that site, here's another one for New Vegas. A guy traveled about the areas seen in the game and its DLC taking pictures of the locations featured there and comparing them against the in game ones (with commentary.

Both of those "mods" require you to make an account on the Nexus to download them due to their size (though I suspect some of you will already have one given all the Fallout threads), but its just a matter of providing an email.

The second ones is well everything else. ...As in everything else that isn't something on paper. ...As in everything.

There's a file with this one and two hundred and eleven images, ranging from art-deco designs, wasteland buildings, vehicles, guns, whatever. ...But aye mostly architecture given what I can remember and the brief look I gave it.

Not sure this truly counts as a Fallout miniature but it is so retro and unreal it should be, despite being (apparently) a real vehicle.  I felt I had to share it somewhere. This is a 1/50 scale model of a French Berliet Circus caravan. Sadly they seem to sell for about £150 quid so I can only gaze longingly at them. Even my love of beating up toy cars doesn't stretch to that.

Apologies to the moderators if I have put this in the wrong place but I don't think there is a post-apoc or Fallout 'inspiration' thread.

2) This is sprueless plastic variant available only for Mantic points. If you want to buy him, I guess you can try e-bay.

In which category on the compiled list would you like him placed?

Will get better pictures when I get another one cast up (Now it has a choice of two heads and two sets of horns so it'll be nice to show them both off!)

£10, PM me if you're interested e_e (Psst, now they come with babies!)

I would think Wastelander probably? He is a nice un that's for sure. Might have to come up with Mantic stuff to buy so I can get him. :)  Too bad I already bought the two things that come to mind for Fallout from them (ghouls and zombies) through a third party...

With all the hype around Fallout 4 I'm a bit disappointed there is no licensed "Fallout Clix" or some such line of minis. It seems a natural fit.

Hmm, quite.
Some sites can be traced to their new URL but one needs to know what miniature was ment to be linked.
other probably disappeared or the stores just don't stock or sell it any longer.

all hasslefree miniatures links are obsolete since their domain name changed to http://hfminis.co.uk/ (http://hfminis.co.uk/)
Crooked dice also added something to their address http://www.crooked-dice.co.uk/wp/ (http://www.crooked-dice.co.uk/wp/)
as did Heresy : http://www.heresyminiatures.com/shop/ (http://www.heresyminiatures.com/shop/)
No-Go zone is now found under http://www.warmacre.com/store/ (http://www.warmacre.com/store/)
http://www.madpuppetminiatures.com/ (http://www.madpuppetminiatures.com/) changed their directories.

Shadowforge minis are to be procured via http://www.eurekamin.com.au/ (http://www.eurekamin.com.au/)
living fantasy miniatures appears to have ceased.

Well since that one is covered, I guess I'll start on the largest grouping of new Fallout 4 characters to represent, the Institute.

I'm trying to represent this guy (or a Courser like him, the coat is the main thing) to lead an Institute warband for TNT:

The problem is, just about every duster/trenchcoat figure that seems somewhat suitable has it unbuttoned, usually dramatically so.  Are there figures out there that actually have their coat fastened up??

I picked up one of these on sale at the weekend. Besides coming with some neat dogs, with a tad bit of work you have a dead ringer (or the closest you'd find without making one from scratch) for Advanced Riot Gear from New Vegas. Arms and head are separate FYI. It does have a (unseen) riot shield strapped to its back though. Its resin, so not difficult to get rid of, and easy enough to sculpt on a Camel Back like the in game set has.

Unfortunately, there is not much in Reaper's range that suits Fallout genre. However, there is one really good super-mutant model:
https://www.reapermini.com/OnlineStore/mutant/sku-down/50180 (https://www.reapermini.com/OnlineStore/mutant/sku-down/50180)
Browse Reaper's Chronoscope range ( https://www.reapermini.com/OnlineStore/Chronoscope (https://www.reapermini.com/OnlineStore/Chronoscope) ). No raiders there, but you might find some models usable as vault dwellers, depending on your sci-fi'ness tolerance.

New model to our "Nuclear Sandlot" series: LAMIA (light antipersonnel mechanical independent armour)
32 mm, resin casting. One additional head and two palms are included.
Spherical joints allow you to assemble hands and head in any position you need.

Hmm.... I think they are about as good a stand-in as I've seen without requiring any kit bashing/converting. I think possibly crossing Perry WW2 tin helmetted-heads with Perry colonial Brit bodies, sculpting the chest armor and adding modern weapons might come closest to the in-game models. I'm tempted to follow in your footsteps rather than go through all that work however.  lol

I've been looking for Mirelurks for ages. So far, no joy. Now,  there seems to be some movement!

A couple of pics for Mirelurk Hunters.

These will be coming as a regiment on their own soon. Unfortunately, they will be metal - I was hoping for plastic, as that would make them nice and convertible.

More pics can be see here:
https://www.facebook.com/manticgames/photos/?tab=album&album_id=10154829975777319 (https://www.facebook.com/manticgames/photos/?tab=album&album_id=10154829975777319)
Along with some odd octopus headed guys that might make for some fun 'Far Harbour' or ocean themed ghouls!

Then, there is this from Otherworld Miniatures:

http://otherworldminiatures.co.uk/shop/ua-series-underwater-adventures/ua2-giant-crayfish/ (http://otherworldminiatures.co.uk/shop/ua-series-underwater-adventures/ua2-giant-crayfish/)

They have a crab in the same series, but it is just a crab - and doesn't look like a mirelurk. They have giant scorpions, spiders etc in theit Wilderness encounters series as well.

For other mirelurks, I think there may be conversion potential in the Mantic Nameless:

http://www.manticgames.com/mantic-shop/dreadball/teams/product/kalimarin-ancients-nameless-team-14-figures.html (http://www.manticgames.com/mantic-shop/dreadball/teams/product/kalimarin-ancients-nameless-team-14-figures.html)

Kitbashing the lower half of the top four models with the top half of the bottom four miniatures looks like it may have potential as a base for FO4 Mirelurks.

However, check out this concept art for a miniature scheduled for possible release this year, as part of the Nameless faction for Warpath/Deadzone:

They are currently part of their Star Saga kickstarter, so the release may not be until the end of the year. But, should they come in plastic, they would be great as FO3 Mirelurks!

yeah - I know of both. The 15mm one's I've vaguely considered as immature mirelurks. But then FO4 introduced a 'giant isopod' style baby variant, which kind of ruined it...

There are some FO4 Mirelurk Kings available from Reaper...

There are Bones versions as well - but I'm not sure on using such a soft, pliable plastic for painted miniatures... They say they'll be fine...

Some Super Mutant possibilities here from Black Earth:

http://blackearththegame.com/product-category/black-earth/ (http://blackearththegame.com/product-category/black-earth/)

The mob is a bit expensive at 40 Euro for 12 models, I think, but it isn't outside the usual price range. The warlord is 15 Euro, and the berserker is 18.

Just saw this on Facebook. I'm giddy with excitement. I like very much what I see so far.

Stumbled across this earlier today. Didn't see the miniatures on the site yet but they might make good blood bugs.

Has anyone come across 28mm hermit crab models? Trying to source some count as Mirelurks for my Fallout Canada Tnt campaign
