I'm not into Aeroneffs but I couldn't resist the game at SELWG. It's been well covered on TMP but I'm surprised not to have seen it mentioned it here.
Based on the Battle of Midway and staged by Arbuthnot's aeronauticas, The League of Gentlemen.
Take a look:

Very cool and I do like the water effect.

One of the very best VSF games I've ever seen. The models and terrain make this a stunning centre-piece.
Thank you for posting the photos - there can never be enough Aeronef.

Holly cow! Total the best! :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*

Just had a thought (a rare event) - I'm so ignorant of this genre, can you chaps confirm that what I've posted IS Aeroneff and not something else entirely? This occurs to me because, since the scenario is a replay of Midway, this is probably not VSF at all but some alterantive history.
I'm all of a dither now in case this is in the wrong place.

Lovely pics mate. Are they car aerials that they're mounted on?

I don't know but I've sent a link for this topic to one of the organisers of the game so if he pops in, we may get an answer.

Nope, correct place. Those are indeed Aeroneffs.

I'm pretty certain I saw this set up in a post about another convention from Steve Blease.
If so, the red 'nef docks in the background:

Are partially made from disposable razor heads. (Never had the courage to ask if the blades had been removed.)
I've been using the handles for space ships, and maybe 'nefs, but always pitched the heads away. Dopey moi...

Here's a closer view of them - are they the ones you mean...?

I'm not into gaming with fleets but that looks great from every aspect.
Cheers.

That was most definitely my 'Table of the Day' at SELWG as well.
it was superb to see all those 'nefs, and the scenery is top class.
i was chatting to one of the fella's and he mentioned that they had plans to take it to Salute next year as a participation game.

Yes, they are!
They were apparently found in a Poundshop, and not a quite car park!

There's a posting on TMP stating that this game will be at Warfare in Reading. I think it said probably only on the Saturday (19th November).

that's wonderful. i love the idea. :)

Nice pictures, I love these kind of big games at conventions as they usually have very nice tables.
-
This game has turned me on to aeronefs. I DO NOT NEED another period/genre/scale.
Bastards! Oh you fine and wonderful bastards!
Crikey...!

I meant it as a compliment! I think it is an astounding game. Truly inspiring.
I know you did - and my response was, in a way, a compliment to your delightfully over-the-top way of expressing it..... :D

I'm pretty certain. If you look at what's the far side, now, of the closest structures, you see that open lip. If you ever look at the underside of a disposable razor head (now, isn't that a grammatic construct), you'll see what I mean.
