Nice work Orctrader - great line of minis aren't they! I'll definitely have to invest in those charater models at some point...
All the best! :)
-
Great minds think alike ;) Excellent work fellows :)
-
I had no idea there were so many wonderful smaller scale LoTR figures!
Both entries are top notch.

Fantastic work on the small scales both of you, I'm impressed! Those Rohan shields are wicked!

Thanks Thantsants :) Nice work on yours too. (Should be an interesting contest between us. All the best and good luck!)
-
Nice work, both of you! I wish I could pick them up and examine them both before voting...!

Great job to you both, the choice was hard and the close voting reflects this. Those shields are indeed fantastic but I also love the amount of detail Orctrader put into those characters!
-
both show an excellent treatment of 10mm. I'd be happy voting for either one
-
Great minds think alike Wink Excellent work fellows Smiley
I reckon Mr Copplestone will be quite happy too!
Cheers Orctrader - Looks like it is going to be a bit of a nailbiter!
Thanks for all the other kind words - I could definitely get into this 10mm stuff in a big way...
-
Superb efforts both, stunning painting in such small scale
-
Wow, how are we supposed to choose between these :-*
-
Thants, those are some lovel shields! I'm very impressed with your freehand, as always! OT, superb blacks - both in regards to the painting but also the photography!
What line are those minis now, everybody seems to know (and own) them except me! =(
-
Cheers Phreedh - very satisfying to paint in terms of surface area you need to cover and the finish you can achieve in comparison to 28mm! :D
They're all from Copplestone's 10mm fantasy range - http://www.copplestonecastings.co.uk/range.php?range=FAN

oh!!! I am happy, that these are so close (hope, the tendency will keep that way! ^^) - cause both are grea (and small-mini-like ^^) entries!
best wishes

This is a tough one, they are both so damn small! :o
-
Good to see some real quality small stuff. Tough choice!
-
Is it just me or does the quality of these 2 entries make you want to go out and buy a load of 10mm armies and have a massive war?
This is a truly stunning display!

Yes I have be storing up on 10mm, there are some great threads on the fantasy board.
But for massive war you need 6mm, you can do Helms Deep on coffee table

in a way, yes ... and I am also wondering, why I do have so much difficulties with my 15mm DBAs or even my 28mm minis °_O
-
As these 10mm figures seem to be of interest to many I'm happy to post bigger, close-up photos if anyone would like to see them? Obviously this would be after voting closes on this match, in accordance with LPL rules and the spirit of LAF. :)
But with the pressure of the LPL I might forget so if you want to see them, you may have to remind me next week. ::)
In terms of "painting smaller scales..." Personally, I paint everything in the same way as I paint 28mm. (Take a look at the DW 15mm stuff on my Website.) But with these Copplestone 10mm I failed to paint the eyes. This was due to the sculpting though. They are just eye-sockets. If I had had more time I would have filled them and given myself a surface to paint.
-
Braver man than me - I too didn't paint the eyes and hadn't really entertained the idea at all! lol
As all of my painting to date has been 28mm stuff I also approached these little chaps with pretty much the same mentality but a steadier hand.
I'd love to see more close-ups of your entry as well Orctrader - I'll endeavour to remember to remind you too! ::)
I'll also be putting up some more detailed pics on my blog and in the fantasy section here for anyone interested - once the round is over of course. :)
-
This one is sooooo damn close! It really deserves to be a draw! .....but then I'd hate to see either of you deprived of the point.
The way the LPL is set up - when quality meets quality both end up hurting ...just a little bit!
Fantasitc painting guys! Is there any way Prof can declare 2 winners for this round?
-
Why haven't I seen this before?? It's SO bloody awesome!!! ;D
