Cultist Catering Service
No gathering too small, no Summoning Ritual too large.

This is Bergh's weird blog of miniatures.

nice :). Especially like the victim in the pot :P (what does that tell about me..)
-
Cool stuff - where are the miniatures from the first picture from?? And the evil doctor + coffins?
-
Most miniatures are from Black Cat Bases, but most are converted in some way.
The Evil doctor is an old Foundry miniature I think, got him from ebay, converted him also a bit, had a knife in his hand.
Coffins is from http://strange-aeons.ca/ and the big one is from Blue Moon I think.
I'm really just using all kind of bits and stuff, so can't remember exactly where each piece come from.
-
Very nice, I love the first picture with the crazy captives...
-
I have a dark ritual coming up this saturday at the old Whateley Farmstead, I'd need about three or four virgins, lightly broiled, one extra crispy black cat, and as many human male sacrifices as you can deliver in a timely manner. Please be advised that the catering crew delivering the goods should be discouraged from approaching the site from the southern woods, as there might be a Dark Young roaming about from a minor mishap last time we attempted our little ritual... turns out the "black" cat was painted so by a crooked animal trader!
Payment is possible in cash, a choice of dark artifacts, or everlasting unlive should the ritual go aas planned... because if not, the whole point is moot anyway ::)

We say thanks for your business, and we can assure you that you have chosen the right supplier (as we are the only one really doing this).
Your staff and sacrificial subjects are all strictly professionals, we encourage our staff will be working with us until the end of the natural life. We handle all situations with discretion and the occasional burst of a tommy gun. We have been serving all kinds of cult worshipping all eldritch gods you will ever know.
We prefer cash payment please, and please respect our policy, that if you don't got the full amount, we demand your family as payment.

I love a store that understands it's customer's! lol

Very good painting, I like those.
-
You have a very interesting collection of minis Bergh.
I love them. :-*
-
Great stuff! Bring it to Horisont! :-*
-
Who casts up the gal in the hat ??? Never seen her before.
-
I'd say Hasslefree. A pretty safe bet when it comes to pretty curvy gals.

+1
She a bit expensive at £3.5. but then again, thats just how pretty curvy girls are. (no pun given). ;D
-
The Dagonites are really cool. Are they much converted?
-

The Lobster monster is a conversion from some kind of "lobster warrior" who had a halbard/axe. Its from Ral Partha.
-
have you not thought of adding the crooked dice envoys ?

I'm beginning to model a cemetery for Strange Aeons/horror skirmish.
-
And this rock is made from a PlayMobil toy mountain
-
The undertaker ghost is brilliant. :o Lovely idea and nice execution.

The undertaker ghost is brilliant. :o Lovely idea and nice execution.
Thanks! Its all also relatively low cost. Gravestones are 2 packs of "Rendere gravestones", mounted on various Renedra bases, and some of the hobby materials I have in my stash.
-
Lovely stuff!
The graves look great. Good use of an old toy as a scenery item. The undertaker ghost is really cool!
-
I like what you did with the playmobil :) maybe nexttime you could use some more textured paint to make it more rocklike...
-

Yes ofcourse thats a good idea, was thinking it myself, but I had no intention on spending money on making it.
I saw it could be usefull, because it had room for miniatures on it.
There are a big difference on scenic terrain and gaming terrain.
-
That Playmobil rock is great, and multiple figures fit on the plateaus, cool! Almost makes me check ebay for spare toy parts :)
The rows of tombstones are also nice, makes for great cover and you have more than enough to fill a big cemetery! Keep it up 8)
-
Made a cemetery.
-
more cemetery
-
That´s impressive!! Great gamingtable!! I would love tp lay there!!
-
Additional stuff, including the same wall set, but now with my cardboard mansion.
-
last few details with the walls
-
Looks really good! Your are getting a top notch collection of terrain and miniatures :)
-
Looks fantastic! It must be a real treat to play on. I really like the roses.
-
Nice graveyard set up!
-
TOP WORK! :o :-*
You have done a really brilliant work with the GW garden of Morr.
How many sets did you use to make all that fence-walls?
And your miniatures are VERY WELL PAINTED too!
The grave digger ghost is just a touch of genius. Consider the idea stolen erm... borrowed.
Lots of gaming possiblities here.
Thanks for sharing.
-
Originally I did only buy one set, then I got another set in exchange for a favour, and most important I almost emptied a bitz webstore, which sold that fencing ridicule cheap along with the walls! I actually have alot of spares left, which can be used for another project.
What you can't see on the pictures is how much work there have gone into sawing and cutting, and then gluing and green-stuffing it back together (beside cutting off all the skulls), The Garden of Morr is a nice set, have that old and spooky feeling, but it's not very modular despite they try to sell as it is.

-
Hey! That Doomsday device is great! Love the effects and the lookings of it! And the same with the crows, they give the tree a lot of charm!
-
Yea, the tree turned out to be ace! I may have to borrow that idea! Great work on everything!
-
Love that Crow Tree...good for a Scene Of Horror or for the Dunwich setting! Where did you end up getting those crows from?
-
Thanks guys, I could have used more time on the painting, but I just have a whole bunch of projects on my desk I want to get through.
About the crows, they are from various GW sets, got them on ebay, some guy sold a bag of them (even got half a dusin left), for £4.
I guess he emptied a bits shop sometime in the past.
I actually a while ago wrote an email to Renedra, suggestion that they should make a Crow/raven sprue. They wrote me back saying they had been thinking about that, but it would not be cost-effective. But he told me they where working on two animal sprues, one for domestic animals like cows, pigs, dog and so on.
the other would be wild animals, like deers, boars and they where thinking on getting a few ravens into that sprue if possible. Lets hope for that.
The GW trees are OK, but needed alot of cutting, glueing and putty to become nice , because they where awful 2D out of the box.
-
New stuff. Only thing I was not pleased with is the cat familiars and swarms, seems my ideas are to advanced for my painting skills.

Thanks hearing that from a master painter like yourself, really make me happier about my stuff. I'm trying to getting better at painting, but it don't seem like I have the patience to use more time on the individual projects. I'm also painting on a large army for Flames of War and a few warbands for SAGA, not saying that's an excuse really.
-
Great stuff!!! I especially love the cats :-*
-
Great stuff!!! I especially love the cats :-*
Thanks Jonas, I'm actually not too happy about the results of the cats, was almost thinking about redoing them when I was done, maybe I should not be so hard on myself.
-
Love the cats ;) but I would say that lol
Will have to sculpt some smaller ones
-
This is an inspiring thread - I'm glad I stumbled on it. Love the cats btw -you are being too hard on yourself. Move onto another set of figures or terrain and forget about them. If you still aren't happy with them after a few weeks thens the time to decide to red them - not now.
-
Great stuff, Bergh!
Love all the new additions.
:-* :-* :-*
You have certainly been busy.
I love that swamp piece and it is great to see that, not only did you get hold of one of those GW graveyards, but it is great to see your take on it.
-
Top work!! I really like the sack boy type people and the night gaunt. The witch and her cat swarms are awesome tho. Love it. Some great skin tomes on her.
-
Forgot to ask: Who makes that Nightgaunt?
-
Wow, some great stuff there!
-
Forgot to ask: Who makes that Nightgaunt?
Fenris Games. Its a great kit. It was quite easy to assemble, but fragile therefore I used the large bases which it part of the kit, I dropped it once on the floor while painting it, and it did break. Luckily super glue works great with the resin Fenris games use.
And thanks guys, I have a few pieces left on the project shelf now, and your support really gives me energy too get them done. So my next photo project is to put up a really nice gaming table.
-
TOP WORK!
Sometimes we are very critic with our own work, but when I "finish" a piece, I prefer to "move on" to the next, instead of lurking forever with the same mini or scenery.
Of course your techniques and skill improve over time, but for me, it's better to to paint the next batch, and as time goes by, you can see how the minis look better than your previous work, and so keep motivated.
And as my eyesight is slowly failing, now I prefer to paint "for gaming" purposes, more that for "display", so simple schemes, strong contrast, inks, and any other short-cut are more than welcome.
Thanks for sharing your great work.

Wonderful!!! :-* :-* :-*
Thanks! next up is Dunwich (or its look alike) town. Hope I can get as much detail into it as this setup.
BTW Can anyone spot all 3 monsters in the cenetery?
-
Killer stuff you made there!!!! Interesting use for a Weeping Angel too, I wouldn't want to be around on that cemetery ;D
-

Much appreciated, I have so many miniature projects lying around my whole apartment i'm getting stresses about it, so I wil surely be doing some more work like this in the future.
-
Some fantastic work.
I really like the idea of a whole board cemetery. You get a whole world of creepiness with all the elements you need (cover, buildings, walls, gates, etc...).
Lovely!
:o
-
That's a board to be proud of!
:-*
-
That is wonderful board, Bergh.
Truly atmospheric.
Love it!
:-* :-*
And: No. I still cant find all three monsters.
???
-
Well I see the Weeping Angel, if that counts as a monster and I see some tentacles coming from a tree or behind a tree. Can't find the third monster yet.
-

I did spot the Angel, but wasnt sure if that was one of them.
There is a Ghost on there too.
Come on, Bergh, just tell us where they are, man!
;)
-
Very nice work there! I love it. That would be a great board to play on!
-
Completely missed this one! Nice work Bergh. I really like your cobbelstones. Well built, well painted. Looks really atmospheric and fun to play on.
-
With the weeping angel there are actully 4 I see.
Upper left corner behind the church at the two trees are a Byakke.
Upper Right Corner is the tentacle monster behind the trees.
and the obvious ghost.
-
Nice board. Great Idea with the clutter terrain. Would you mind if I steal it?

As long as you don't steal my actually terrain from my house ;D, I think you should do as you want, we post in here to learn from each other and work with each others ideas and inventions.
I actually made a small "how did I do it" in this thread:

-
Wow Brian!
That is really a bunch of cool terrain.
I hope we will get to see at some point. We should maybe arrange a meet up in the distant future?
-
I'm always interested in meeting new people to game, sadly I just moved even further north then Aalborg, and I have no car :'(.
But I regularly play in Aalborg and attending Horisont in Esbjerg, but not with any of my stuff sadly.
-
That's a fantastic board! I can't see they byakhee though.
-
I just moved even further north then Aalborg
You mean... Norway?!? :o
:D
Really excellent looking terrain there! Good job
-
Wow fantastic work! I cant imagine how much work went into that.
-
Looks like my kinda party!

Done painting my Cultist clubhouse/ mansion, together with the small garden plot to go with it.

I really like that scenery. Seems like it would be useful for quite a few things. I'll have to store that in my 'someday' list ;)
-
WOW!
Really great scenery, and practical for various settings.
Tanks for sharing.
-
Oooh!
That looks familiar.
;)
That has come out really well, mate.
An excellent use of scenic materials.
:-* :-*
Wonderful finish and I may well steal the idea for the gardens.
;)
-
Very nice stuff there! The house is well done with all the extras like the greenery.
-
Those cultists and the dogs look hilarious! lol
Not what you expect from a cosmic horror setting, but nevertheless very, very nice.
-
Superb work, and a lot of it too! Very inspirational. Love the little chap in the pool... :-* :-*
-
Brilliant work with the foilage!!!
-
The mansion and garden are my favorites after the completed graveyard.
-
Wow, these are so spooky and inspirational!
