Oh my! I'm spraining my brain trying to vote for the best here. Both are equally great in my mind.
-
These are closely matched. Both are excellent.

Thanks very much Blue. You've done a beautiful job on those lads. I particularly like the chap with the top hat that's festooned with feathers - he has a certain James Mason (from 'Lord Jim') look about him.
My pics are too dark (again). It's the trouble with the League deadline being at 6am (my time) as I always seem to end up photographing in relatively low light the night before. Oh well, c'est la vie.
Best,
Curt

In my minds eye I see these two actually facing of. The more pained looks on some of the guys faces matches up perfectly with the kilt lifters. ;D

Both great stuff.
@curt: Do not use this black background, it is to hard contrast.
-
@NurgleHH: Thanks for the comment but actually I quite like the high contrast the black background provides. (My blog photos are all done with a black background) To each their own I guess. :) Its more of an issue of light exposure on the figures themselves. I prefer to photograph using natural light when I can, but time of day, cloud cover, etc will impact on the final product.

Both beautiful rich entries. Loving the attention to detail you both have put into them.
