I have just watched the Borgias and I had to paint myself a Cesare and his assassin lapdog Micheletto together with his bad ass pope daddy (which I did a while ago)

I wonder where I can find some useful miniatures for the other characters...

Nice, they look great! :) Love the detail on the pope's headgear. I was wondering if I should watch the series, from the trailers etc. it looked quite nice, historical inaccuracies aside...
By the way, where did you get the figures?

Thanks for your comments,
I like the series a lot. Great inspiration for skirmish wargaming ;D
The miniatures are conversions:
Micheletto: Perry body and West Wind head
Cesare: Copplestone conquistador body and Copplestone Somalian head
Pope: GW Empire sorcerer body, Copplestone SYW Grenadier head and bible hand from an Old West miniature
-
Great work on all three! 8)
I managed to follow the first season of the series, is there more skirmish action in the second season as most of the action seemed to take place in the bedroom lol

As in all the US produced series, Rome, Tudors, Borgias, Game of thrones, they seem to add a big portion of sex in the first season but it fortunately fades away in the later seasons. I like them since they, at least to some extent, are based on historical events. Any student of 15-16 th century Italian history would recognize the scheming and backstabbing that goes on in The Borgias. The struggle between the Borgia Pope and Catarina Sforza is legendary and even if the TV series mix up events a bit, it is still a fascinating story ;)

I am slowly reviving my project for the Sack of Rome 1527 and added some friends to the Borgias above. These will portray some of the Black Bands of Giovanni that participated in the defence of the city (or maybe just a band of street thugs)

Great work :)
-
Very well done! I really like the mix of models.
-
Thanks for your comments! It was really fun to watch the series and converting/painting at the same time :)

Know nothing of the series but must ask, where is Lucretia? (aka Lucretia McEvil - though perhaps an undeserved epithet)

She definately deserve one ;)
I just wanted to portray Cesare and Micheletto as they were the main characters involved in the actions scenes and they fit to my Rome 1527 project. I recommend the series if you have not seen it. It provides a good feel for the period and a lot of potential wargames scenarios. Another one, although more fantasy, is ”DaVincis Demons”, which has more focus on the conflict with the Turks.

Very nice band indeed !
-
Can't model Jeremy Irons' voice, alas.
-
Very characterful group of figures, well done. Those Copplestone Somalis are useful minis, I've used the heads and bodies for things (but I've not painted them as Somalis yet, lol).
