Welcome !
Björn

thanks for the compliments
and i'm very happy you enjoy our ideas.
I discover in this forum the same spirit : figs, painting, modelling... etc
and a lot of similar ideas: pirates, darkest africa....

Laurent
This board is great :D , please send more photos.
Do you know the designer? Can you ask them if they plan an english
release ?
Are the minis for this game prepainted? This is what babelfish is translating me. Could you confirm this ?
Thanks
-
BRILLIANT work, Laurent! :o I would watch your game even if I couldn't play. :D
-
Laurent, Superb stuff :D I also like your Wolfenburg Game. Stunning photos, you have really captured the atmosphere.
-
thank you for your posts
i must add i'm not alone in this project. Erwan is the co-builder of the board (is it correct in english ?)
the game is in beta test. It will be available in april 2007. the english version is not in pipeline, may be if an english/american distributor is interested
The game is issued from a french strip cartoon : Okko. A must !
i'm the author of the rules, and erwan is the manager of Hazgaard editions (my boss)
the minis are prepainted (painted is more correct) and will be available in solo packs or duo packs with map, rules, dice ... You have what you choose, no heroclix syndrome
But, no painted figs will be available too by the website.
I think, erwan will post soon more photos if you want
amicalement,
laurent

You can do a english or even a german version online or as .pdf, so people can still buy the minis.
To have an english version would be a great finacial push for the game,
think about those new japanese mythology loving english speaking
gamers.
I was reading the comic last night, it was a lot of fun :D

Laurent, amazing board, and amazing blog! One of the most beatiful and inspired blogsites I've ever seen...
I can't speak french, but being spanish I've been able to understand most of the text there... A really good and inspiring work!

Hi,
I'm Erwan the co-author of this table. My english isn't so good that toutatis english  ...sorry...
Thank you for giving pleasure with this forum which make me dreams!!!

No problem... we should be able to communicate most efficiently, nonetheless. Et si nous rencontrons des problémes, quelques membres du forum parlent francais, aussi.
Okay, now that we established that my french is at least as bad as your english ;), awesome table! A bit small for my taste, but I guess it´s sufficient for the game? I´ve been a great fan of samurai for years, and a small adventure game might just be the right thing for me.
Thank you for giving pleasure with this forum which make me dreams!!!
And now we´ve finally discovered who´s the person who dreams up those Junk Mail Reference Lines! ;)
Just kidding, though. I saw Toutatis´ "Fall of the Roman Empire" table at crisis, and that was pretty damned awesome, too.
-
Looks really cool. I know a few guys who'd be interested in an english set of rules!
-
welcome aboard, Erwan :) The pics are fantastic, lots of inspiration!

Thank you guys for sharing these pictures. I really love this 3d-board.
I saw your 3d-board somewhere in the web weeks ago, but I missed bookmarking it. So I am very happy that you found the way into this forum.
Erwan, what kind of wood have you used, is it balsa wood? The ground squares look like 3 cm x 3 cm right?
Lurch
-
Awesome! But it must be horribly difficult to transport without taking damage, eh? ;)
-
Hi,
thanks for sharing the picture report and the other pictures !
I wish you good luck and success for the game !
Björn

I am in complete awe. That is a beautiful board in every detail. You really can see it in the closeups. Thanks for sharing and thanks for the construction shots. They really help in visualizing how you put it together.
-
:o :o :o OH !!!! can´t say anny more I am a school boy in making terrain :freak:
Grimm

 this work is "museum quality!" But people are actually using it to game! Probably only professionals could try to match it. Thank you for showing this work of art.
Looks like a perfect size for a game of .45 Adventure or Gloire. Perhaps this team could produce a palace interior or a palace garden for a game of Three Musketeers? Perhaps a rowdy pirate tavern? It would be a dream to see more work like this!
Question: is the water flexible enough to avoid cracking? or is the frame strong enough to avoid this issue? I ask because a friend of mine made some nice river sections out of a clear substance that looks like water, but at least one of the sections cracked. Granted those were terrain pieces frequently handled and not on a very stiff frame.

I would buy this game in English or French.
TT.
-
Very nice pictures and a superb terrain Board!
Bravo!
Olivier

AWESOME! :o
Your playing board is absolutely stunning!!!!
My French is terrible but they do say " A picture paints a thousand words!".
Your blog is also incredible!
My hat off to you sir!

Yes the wood is blasa. The ground square are 4X4 cm.
The water is in resin.

Sorry Bravo Six, but for the moment it is not envisaged to sell them seperately but just in the "Duo Box" (sorry we don't have yet an english name for this box but "duo" means that there are 2 miniatures in the box).
P.S : nice avatar Bravo Six!!! ;-)
-
Oh well. Thanks anyway. Similar dice can be made with blank d6's I guess. :)

Awesome looking game.
If you need any more help in testing (or translating) I expect most of us would volunteer.

The test period is finished, and the game goes into "production" very soon.

I hope so  :D

It is confirmed by Idea and Hazgaard for Italy for the moment...

Amazing board. Keep us posted.
-
Ok...now that I have read about 1/2 of the Okko:The Water Cycle graphic novels I REALLY want to play this. We need a USA release!! :o
-
the fourth episod is coming in France in february/march and it is amazing !!! :P
The game had some troubles with FFG... I's difficult to harmonise objectives, money and production between a big american entreprise and a french small one. may be later....
So, Okko had to change its format. Now, it's a complete boardgame. The figures will be sold separately if you want ton change the 2D boardgame by a 3D skirmish game.
(sorry for my english)
the website is here :

I hope they are still doing a version together with Fantasy Flight Games.
Will the separate Figures still prepaints ?
-
Wait, so the minis will be sold seperately from the rest of the game? Any chance they will sell the rules seperate fro mthe box too for the folks who are more interested in a good minis game than a boardgame?
-
The figures (lead figures) will be sold separately painted and no-painted.
If you want to play with the rules you need the characters cards, equipement cards, tiles and special dice included in the box.
The rules will be in PDF in few days.
-
Yesterday I've bought myself the first issue of the Okko comic and must say the paintings are very detailed and good for inspiration but now my urge to play this miniature game grows even more :freak: I hope the english release doesn't take to long to translate/fabricate.
-
Wow cant believe i missed this thread...
Just read it from start to finish and i really like this stuff, so inspirational!
The 3D board at the start of the thread is amazing and the minis are beautiful. Going to investigate the graphic novels next...

Ohh, from Hazgaard, they make some other pretty minis: http://www.hazgaard.com/pages/accueilparabdpag.html
