Hi,
Spurred on by other members threads – I have dusted off the box browning and tried a few photos of my now completed GoT collection.
Over the next week or so I ma going to add photos to this thread (as I get chance to do them)
First up (again) is The Bloody Mummers/Brave companions……
Qyburn and his group:-

Septon Utt and friends:-

Finally, Lord Hoat and the ‘Goat guard’ (Ok its made up but so is GoT)

Lastly this group is called ‘Kingslanding’ - Cersei Lannister, a couple of Lannister guards and Ser Robert Strong (as big as the Mountain but without his sense of humour)

More later…hopefully

Lovely lovely brush work, and a lot of figures I've never seen.
-
Great!! Lovely chaps!!
-
Excellent :)
-
Nice paint jobs. So who makes the figures?
-
Majority of my collection are just normal bog-standard Front Rank War of the Roses or HYW.
figures - albeit with few weapon swaps and minor conversions.
I happen to like FR - they are cheap(ish) and you can buy individual figures.
Utt & Cersei are Essex miniatures and The Brothers Clegane and strong are converted Reaper miniatures (because I needed the height/bulk)
-
The second batch of GoT figures.
The Kingsguard

Lord Roose Bolton & his bastard Ramsey snow + retainers

Lannister bannermen (House Crakehall)

Lannister bannermen (House Payne)

Lannister banner men (House Lorch)

Some Lannister men at arms (with Jaqen H’Gar lurking – I initially tried painting him from the TV series instead of the book but it looked like a seagull had crapped on his head…)
(http://i842.photobucket.com/albums/zz346/SRB29/JH_zps5aa0ad88.jpg) (http://s842.photobucket.com/user/SRB29/media/JH_zps5aa0ad88.jpg.html)
Tyrion Lannister + some of Bronns sellswords

On to the ‘goodies’ next……
-
Really fantasic Cleganes
-
Great looking mini's! Where you got that flags from?
-
I found the flags in various GoT sites on the internet, copied, pasted, fiddled around etc and printed them off.
I've got a collection of a lot of the common Westeros houses - if you want any particular ones let me know, some are better than others - if I haven't got one done it shouldn't take me long to do one - depending on work, kids etc
-
Oh I don't need any, as I will paint them, I was just wondering, cause some of them I hadn't seen before
-
Great looking project,
I've got a collection of a lot of the common Westeros houses - if you want any particular ones let me know,
-could I be particularly cheeky and ask for a copy of Houses Lorch and Payne, :)
Similarly if anyone wants to use any of the ones I made from the series I'll happily share
-

Thank you.
I have for many years used various washes of ink - over my painting - it adds shading & picks out detail (and, most importantly, hides a multitude of sins)
I like 'dirty' looking figures - its not to everyones taste but its a style that I'm happy with for speed & 'look'

Wowie that's a nice army!! :o
Few questions:
Will you painting the fish on the big shield of the Tully boltthrower?
Do you have a Thoros of Myr miniature?
Where is the Direwolf from?

Hi,
I will be painting a fish on the shield at some point - when I pluck up the courage to have another go. I did paint one initially but it looked awful, so I stripped it off.
I haven't got Thoros figure - I have never found one which has the feel for him or is the right size. My GoT collection is largely done but i'm still keeping an eye out for the odd figure.
Finally the wolf is a Reaper Miniatures one - I have a spare somewhere, if I can find it and you'd like to cover the postage/shipping.
Cheers

Very nice, who makes the dogs that the huntsman is looking after?

They are Vendel (come in packs of 5) - now only available from the US - shipping is a bit steep.
I got mine on e-bay.
-
Really like the Manderley’s, and their banner.

Really like the Manderley’s, and their banner.
Yeah its a pity they do not appear in the HBO TV series but I spose there has to be a lot of 'trimming' from book to TV....
One reason I got into collecting GoT themed armies was the flags & freedom of interpretation.....(OK that's two reasons........)
-
Agreed, I am interested to see how.they play out the latest book. I mean considering they play such a prominent role.
Still try to find some decent fat knights to represent them. ::)

Thats one difficulty - most of the 'outstanding' characters are very tall (Clegane's, Brienne, Strong etc) which are easy to alter/find (eg double basing) but 'fat' figures are very much harder to get hold of.
-
Ah - beautiful work on those.

Just add a lot of green stuff! ;) At least, that's what I did, to make my Sandor Clegane 'stronger'.
About the Wolf; wow thank you for the offer! That's really kind! I'm not in a need right now, as I've still a lot to paint, and I'm not focussing on Starks right now, but I really appreaciate it! :)
-
:o
I made myself a Mormont flag almost exactly like that about a year ago!
Great minds... ;)
-
GREAT LOOKING STUFF! You have a GREAT eye for choosing interesting minis; AND painting & basing them up in an OUTSTANDING style. VERY WELL DONE!
-
Very nice, who makes the dogs that the huntsman is looking after?
I have found out a couple of spare dogs like these, if you'd like to pay the postage, you can have them.
-
Wow! Great assembly of men-at-arms and their supporters! The conversions are wonderful and have so much motion in them. The paintjobs are perfect. I think the down and dirty look is very appropriate for the GoT world.
I too love the job you did with the Cleganes. Next time you're taking pictures, could you get one more of the Hound? I'd like to see his face and sword better, if you have the opportunity.
Thanks for sharing,
Jevenkah

Thanks for your comments, Jevenkah - I'll try and get my wife to do some better close-ups (she's the better photographer) but until she does, I have this shot on file:-
(http://i842.photobucket.com/albums/zz346/SRB29/SandorClegane_zpsacb62e54.jpg) (http://s842.photobucket.com/user/SRB29/media/SandorClegane_zpsacb62e54.jpg.html)
Sandor is a converted Reaper Miniatures figure -
(http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ashlan-Fellthrush-Heroic-Paladin-Reaper-Miniatures-03556-New-/301180407457?pt=UK_Toys_RolePlaying_RL&hash=item461fc04ea1)
- with a head swap, a bit of 'Greenstuff' work and some detail filing off - Reaper tend to be larger figures.
Cheers

Seriously wonderful thread, I love all the different houses you've managed to incorporate into your armies.
-
very nice indeed

Hi,
I have about scaled down operations on my GoT collection (mainly due to space & kids).
However I am going to continue the odd figure.
Here's my latest effort:-
Prince Oberyn Nymeros Martell, known as the Red Viper
(http://i842.photobucket.com/albums/zz346/SRB29/DSCF0077_zpsd7f10292.jpg) (http://s842.photobucket.com/user/SRB29/media/DSCF0077_zpsd7f10292.jpg.html)

-
Wow! That's a great looking guy! I'm planning to create him too at some point, but mine will look way different, but you gave me some nice ideas, thanks for posting!
-
nice
-
Thanks for the extra pic of the Hound. The Red Viper has a stern, "I'm just here to fight" face. Neat figure for a character I had a hard time picturing. I don't recall, is the bronze armor your idea or from the books? Either way I think a neat fit for the desert folk of Dorne.

Hi,
Thank you.
He is described as having 'a pale red silk cloak and a shirt armoured with overlapping discs of bright copper' - I think if you really wanted to be pedantic - his shield should be shining steel with his sigil on.
I got the yellow tunic idea from the TV series.
He's a 'slightly' converted Artizan Andalusian.
Cheers
