Slowy been working on this commission but not far from the end now :)
It's for 18mm but the building is scaled a bit smaller than it should be to make it 'work'. I prefer to get as close approximation to a buildings size as I can and although this is a massive building I think it does scale too bad.
15mm samurai for scale as I don't have and 15mm or 18mm naps :?

Roofs are removable but there is just a very simple interior (just for placing figures in really) and there's the garden and garden walls to do but they shouldn't take too long as I have most of the bits. Chapel roof and that should be it :)
The windows have been scored into acrylic and then had paint rubbed into them, back sprayed dark grey then white (for the interior) and then stuck in and they don't look too bad given the scale :)

Wow, great model building.
What talent you have.
-
That looks great Jim
What are the roofs made from?
-
Thanks chaps :)
Colin, it's just small scale vacform pantiles sheeting cut to size over a simple framework (no shots of that though).
cheers
James
-
Very nice work. Yes indeed, you have a great talent.

Nice :-*
-
Nice! ;)
I'm not sure if this happens to others, but when I see something of this size/caliber, my brain runs through the same little cycle.
"Ooh, I'd love one of those in 28mm. I could use it for xxx. I couldn't afford it though. I could make my own. Where would I store it? I need a bigger box/room/house (delete as applicable). I'll check LAF for ideas/suggestions." Rinse and repeat.
-
Coolio! !! 8) 8)
-
(I'm not gonna comment on your talent... you don't deserve it anymore!)
-
The gardens are a go but only two thirds. Will sort the rest out hopefully today :)

Your time at uni was not wasted young Jedi.
I'm afraid it was lol
This isn't for me (hence the 'odd' scale lol ) but I'll link to the blog of the owner when he receives it :)

Wonderful work James, it is indeed quite a stunner :-*
Now, make one in 28mm for yourself :)
-
Now, make one in 28mm for yourself :)
I think I'll be bowing to peer pressure for this lol
Gardens and small chapel are complete, just needs a couple of gates, a bell and the surrounding groundwork 'planting' :)
I am thinking on a couple of bits of trellis but undecided as of yet :?

And if you place a real picture for comparison with your work that will be brilliant. ;)
Well done. :-* :-*

I don't really care what Nibbles does, it's always great eye candy. :)

Man! Lovely :-* Though a little close to home :-X

Sooo jealous of your client! Be great to see it in a game (even in 15mil!) ;)
-
Many thanks chaps :)
Should be done tomorrow and I'll see if I can get a decent comparison picture ;)
cheers
James

All done (bar a little window but I need work for that).
Three glaring errors that I'm hoping no one will notice... And I'm not going to tell you what they are lol

And here are a couple of shots of the real thing. Some conjecture was required for the garden and I'm sure the original walls filled a larger space than I have here but I'm hoping no-one will mind :)

:-* :-* :-*
James, appart from the errors (wich are where???) the Bishops Seminary its fabulous.
If someone point an error we just shoot him. :D
-
Hmm, I don't know if these are the errors, buuuut ::)
1/ There is a second window missing on the side of the chapel.
2/ The raised roof section (bell tower?) is missing from the front of the chapel.
3/ The wall of the wing closest to the chapel has no windows.
4/ The scale is all wrong, should be 28mm.
5/ It's not mine. :-*
Manly hugs on a great job, Jim!
-
I love these MDF buildings! ;)
:D
-
Spectacular building :-* :-* :-*
Who cares about any errors
-
Gorgeous looking build, the end result is amazing! :-*
Your customer is a one happy chappy for sure!
-
Ohh! i spot an error!!
Dont know if this is important to your costumer but...
On the thread when James puts the final shots.
On the seven picture from top to bottom.
On the second row of windows.
On the 14th one from left to right.
There´s a priest looking outside. James forgot to paint one eye.
-
Dang, Rum, I missed that too! :D
-
Amazing... o_o
:-*
-
Thanks chaps :)
Kev, you'd get a cookie for getting some of the answers right if it weren't obvious you'd had too many already ;D
