The minis are COOL & the brushwork TERRIFIC, BUT the PRESENTATION is OUTSTANDING! As one Carny type to another, VERY WELL DONE!
-
what no story about the owle!!!!!!!!!!!!
ore the bard
love the owle and trolls!
-
Sorry Nils I thought I had one's written up but not sure where they got to. I will have to remedy that.
In the meantime you can check this out!!!
I got my new Heroquest board today! The old board was good, but I really wanted a change up. I love how it turned out. I got all the images from various sources across the internet. I then did a rough cut and paste jobs, then reskinned it with a comic book wash. It turned out perfect, can't wait to get some games in on this.
-
That does look pretty damn good. I am really enjoying how lush and colorful it is.
I should go dig up my own copy. mmm. Theres a potential future project.
-
It's a BEAUTY...have FUN gaming on it!
-
The original OG triple trile OG
So my character Schmendrick as has had a long road of creation. First he was Aldred the Fellblade. Then Aldred the Fellcleaver, till I have finally settled on Schmendrick. First he was an Imperial Cavalry general, then he fell on hard times, and turned to banditry and other roguish behavior. Now he seems to be on the upswing with a small band of followers. He now clears dungeons throughout the Oldworld.
The picture the started it all. From White Dwarf 125
This was the original figure that started it all. I was going to make an empire cavalry general. I wanted a terminator on a horse. Here turned out perfect on his mighty steed Kringer.
This figure now sits on my admiring shelf. I leave the real fighting to my footslogging Schmendricks. From the Left: The 2nd Schmendrick, the new chaos schmendrick, and of course my Rogue Trader/Space Hulk Schmendrick.
-
My new Skeleton army
Here we have my new skeleton general, and some accompanying swarms of bats. The second picture is the army arrayed for battle ready to spring from their graves to bring ruin and despair among the scattered villages. Ha Ha Ha. Ya it's still in the box. I might actually have to play a game like this.....we will see. ;)
-
The Various Evolving Schmendricks, General Skeleton with his Bat Minions, & the forthcoming Army all look SPLENDID or about to be. I really enjoy the background fluff. Have FUN with it all!

Rankin Woodenheart
Here we have a wee hobbit! I picked this little guy up on a whim. For some reason I am always drawn to halflings, and will find an excuse to paint one anytime. It doesn't help that the Hobbit cartoon was one of my favorites growing up.
I went with a pretty simple scheme of brown, and foundry night sky triad. All the swords in the Rankin Bass cartoons are always white or glowing. So this little guy gets his glowing when spiders are around!
The fable of Rankin Woodenheart is known to all children of the wee folk. It is a tale of how one's curiosity can get you into trouble. Rankin was a curious sort of halfling, who was always ranging far about the countryside. One day he happened upon a sword and shield.
To test his mettle he decided to guard a patch of cabbage against a family of racoons. Swift and sharp was the combat. Rankin was thoroughly flushed from the excitement, though he was glad he actually hadn't killed any of the racoons. For his bravery he decided to paint a wooden heart on his shield to remind him that he had stood against many foes. The tale of his bravery for saving the cabbage spread through out the village.
Then one day Rankin heard of another foe deep in the forest. It was rumored that a giant spider had made it's home in the Briarwood. Swelled with confidence and pride from his combat in the cabbage patch, Rankin decided to go investigate.
He gathered his gear, and set off at the crack of dawn....never to be seen again!

A ring of invisibility would come in real handy right about then.

A ring of invisibility would come in real handy right about then.
I know right! ;)
This Grenadier barbarian was my orginal Heroquest hero a few years back. He has now been retired in favor of Schmendrick. We also have his barbarian bride from Foundry.
I thought I would show them off next to my Steve Dean barbarian that I won off Ebay. I can't get enough of these Mark Copplestone Grenadier barbarians!
They are still available from various companies. The most complete range is done by Mirliton miniatures out of Italy.
-
:-* love the paint job on that classic miniature.
-
So I had been after the C23 Mutant Ogre for awhile now. Well the wait is over. Not only did I score 1 but 2! I decided to bump my chaos armies troll unit up to 4 as any good Khorne player should. I have also added a commander in the form of Serial Eve with her magical "Goonies Never Say Die" Banner. Which has been Chunk approved giving it 4 truffle shuffles out of 5!
I have decided to model these lovable guys off the Perry twins...So I give you the Pagan Twins; Axel and Meatloaf.
-
Hilarity, and great paint. Love this thread! lol
-
Whatta gas. Does Eve do the Truffle Shuffle?! lol
-
Oh ya Serial Eve does the truffle shuffle, all who enter the hall of Black Vasken must do it as a sign of respect. lol
There is a new battle report up on the blog, from inspiration taken from Shuster's Last Stand article in WD. Go check it out.
http://givemlead.blogspot.com/ (http://givemlead.blogspot.com/)
-
Well we now have the three Worg's complete. One each for Heroquest, Oldhammer, and RT/Hulking.
-
Nice paint job and cool figures.

-
I seem to have missed you posts earlier, which is a shame, as I see alot of splinded work!
Did you already manage to game on the Heroquest board? It really looks pretty huge, is it twice the size of the original?
-
Braxandur I have not had a chance yet. That is high on the priority list.
Ya it is about twice as big. I think it's around 48x36". It really gives you a lot of space to ground in monsters! ;)
-
Did an informal speed painting challenge, and whipped this chap up in 53:00 minutes.
Come over and check it out for more pics. ;)

Fantastic Oldhammer look. Nice one.
-
Thanks lads! This army has been a labor of love almost two years in the making now. I have one more unit to show off next week, and this army will be pretty much complete. I will only add to it after that if I see a striking sculpt that is a must have....I hope. lol lol lol lol lol

-
The Short Knights of Unpleasantness are GORGEOUS...WONDERFUL brushwork & colors. VERY WELL AND IMAGINATIVELY DONE!
-
Thanks you both.
White Knight they turned out much better then I had planned. They are truly brilliant sculpts, and your efforts to build a quality company should be applauded. ;) Having an awesome sculptor like John helps as well.
Deafnala....Thank you sir!!!

http://givemlead.blogspot.com/2015/08/oldhammer-weekend-usa-battle-masters.html (http://givemlead.blogspot.com/2015/08/oldhammer-weekend-usa-battle-masters.html)
-
Finally got some time to get him painted. As always more pics on the blog.
-
OUTSTANDING! The miniature lives up to the name; the FANTASTIC painting & basing make him so. VERY WELL DONE!
-
Thanks DeafNala! I really took my time with him, and he turned out just as I imagined he would.
-
He looks great! Any chance of a size comparison with some old citadel stuff. Kind of curious how the frostgrave metals look with them.
-
I don't have any comparision pic's at the moment. I will say that he scales perfectly with the old grenadier barbarians. So he is not overly gigantic.
-
Ok that sounds perfect. Probably pick him up to use on my new heroquest board.
-
That sounds fantastic! Can't wait to see the game report. ;)
-
Here is a cloud giant I just finished up. I did a little comic report with him on the blog, if you would like to hop over and check it out. ;)
-
Repainted my champion Tim Prow. Got him a new fur coat, and a deadlier steed. More pics on the blog: http://givemlead.blogspot.com/2015/10/tim-prow-redux.html (http://givemlead.blogspot.com/2015/10/tim-prow-redux.html)
-
Tim is a FINE addition to an OUTSTANDING Band of Evil Doers. VERY WELL DONE!
-
Great work as always. Kinda liked the leopard fur better though.
-
Thanks lads. Death Jester I agree but in the end it had to be done. Looking at the army in full now he fits in perfectly. ;)
-
Here is a new chaos warrior I converted and painted up.

-
That old Epic art is sensational, so it's no wonder you've been inspired by it. The model turned out well.
-
He doesn't need a bat, he's a bat out of hell by himself. Nice conversion work and painting.
-
Amazing model and a very nice unit with great heraldry on the shields.
-
;) Thanks guys!

I decided I wanted some Khorne Juggernauts for my Chaos Army:https://givemlead.blogspot.com/2018/10/juggernauts-of-khorne-with-twist.html (https://givemlead.blogspot.com/2018/10/juggernauts-of-khorne-with-twist.html)

But wanted them to be more like giant AT ATs
(https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-pAoBcBrOWA0/W6-oHDnVpMI/AAAAAAAAIUE/rmAUOgt0vnMfmX6QbLNZQQaAzD87MVCOwCLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_2222.JPG)
Well the best thing to mix in with my mounted chaos army would be giant horses. So I repurposed some MOTU Stridor's
(https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-6vZwtao6t3I/W6-oB1_3LSI/AAAAAAAAIT4/C9WECHrAF-4xLzKTQKU34kQT-E07q1_qwCLcBGAs/s1600/IMG_2197.JPG)
