Alright, I admit. Someone else did a Skeletork, and I could NOT get that out of my head, so here we are. I may add to these, but for now I am not up to the task of sculpting boobs on an Ork for Teela and Evil-lyn, though I may try to do Ram-Man and Tri-Klops, and maybe Klawful.
He-Ork!
And his trusty steed, Battle Boar.
The ever-valiant Ork-At-Arms.
And their magic-wielding ally, Orko (Gobbo?)
Opposed by the vicious Skeletork.
And the brutish Beast-Ork!
The bubbling Mer-Ork.
And the predatory Panthboar. Who I just realized I forgot to paint the tusks on. Bloody 'ell.
The crushing attack of Trap-Jork!
And the obligatory group shot.
And we are spent....
But, damn, between COBRA and now this, my childhood is getting a good tending to in my miniatures.
-
Lovely, can we have Hordak and Man E Faces next please :D :D
-
No. No Hordork. I will not go down the path that leads to having to sculpt even more boobs on orks. What, you think I am going to do the Sorkeress next?
-
lol awesome.
-
This is wonderfully nostalgic. :D
-
Majestic!
-
these are great
-
As a lifelong MOTU fan I gotta say they're pretty sweet. I've often toyed with the idea of basing a chapter of Chaos Marines around Skeletor & his evil warriors.
-
lol lol
That lot certainly gave me a chuckle.
Brilliant!

That's a great project if I ever saw one! Hope we will see more conversions and some orkish scenery and buildings! This holds great potential! lol

-
Those look amazing! Very very very very well done. :-* :-*
Did you consider at some point painting the good guys in human fleshtones?
-
Absolutely ridiculous.
I love it!! :D
-
Great! Lots of fun.
-
Brilliant. lol I especially like Battle Boar - the Battlecat colours work surprisingly well on it.
-
Hilarious stuff. The moustache on ork-at arms and hair on beast-ork.
Love skeletork.
But.... I know what you said about boobs and orks, but a he-man retinue doesn't feel complete without Teela.
Common.... You know it needs to happen.....
-
Nice work on these :D !
... and if you are not keen on sculpting boobs on orks, there are various companies that do cheerleader Orks with boobs already on them :)
-
When do we get to see Fort Grayskullz and Squig Mountain? And 'Ordak's "Da Fright Zone"?
-
This is awesome!
I'm surprised that there is no MOTU inspired minis out there.
Your project looks fantastic.
-
lol lol lol :-* :-* :-*
Man, that's a touch of genius! I do love what you are doing here!! [Clap clap clap]
-
:-* You have no idea the combined mass of the puns and childhood nostalgia is making me smile right now! Cracking work!
-
(http://smiler.brontoforum.us/heman.gif)
What the hell is he doing? Nice hat.
An astounding set of figures, really great conversions. This is why I come here :D
-
Awesome work, I am very pleased to see somebody running with this theme.

I did, but it just looked, well, wrong, to me. As a loooong time Orc/k player, it sat in my craw until I repainted them. Same reason why Beast-Ork got the green.
Hilarious stuff. The moustache on ork-at arms and hair on beast-ork.

And it might - it hit me last night that I can take the tops of the heads off helmeted guys, and use that as the breastplates, and then I only have to sculpt the curled horns/tentacles/whatever the hell they were supposed to be onto them. They may look a bit Madonna-esque, but who cares? The hair is still going be a pain for Teela, and that helmet of Evil-lyn's...sheesh.
When do we get to see Fort Grayskullz and Squig Mountain? And 'Ordak's "Da Fright Zone"?
NO HORDAK! Then I would have to do She-Ork, and I am NOT going sculpt that. Besides, making Hordorks minions would be a pain. And Hordak himself bothered me. How did that incompetent boob win a world, and Skeletor didn't? Oh right, He-Man. Switch heroes, and the roles would reverse, but with Skeletor being even cooler.
And I am actually laying out a Squig Mountain to try and build. Need to carefully plan that out, though. May be years.
On another note, didn't Skeletor have nameless foot soldiers? I am drawing blanks when I search for them, but all I find are the standard named dudes...

It WAS you, wasn't it. See what you've done!?

Maybe you you could follow a Valkyrie theme for the female charaters... You know, the big, blond women with horned/winged helmets... the ones from Wagner's Ring of the Nibelungs operas (especialy parodies) (or Haggard the Terrible's Wife!). That would be very orkish, to have females that have an even broader physique than the orkish males!
-
Just brilliant.
-
what no fisto!?!
so wonderfully wrong on so many levels.
Really nice work all the same.
Huh. I forgot about that guy, with the horrible name.
So, Fisto, Teela, Evil-lyn, Tri-Klops, Ram-Man, Sorceress, Clawful...huh. This is, how do we say, a baaaaad thing.

Hahahahahahaha what?! That guy is definitely what, in certain communities, is known as a "top bear" ;D
-
This is, how do we say, a baaaaad thing.
Its a Two-Bad (http://he-man.wikia.com/wiki/Two_Bad) thing ;)
Great work, dont stop, loads to do, cant wait to see the entire cast!

Guilty :)
Awesome that you could see your way to having lots of fun with this theme.

Brilliant thread.
I tried watching the old He-Man comics with my son. His only comment was that they must have been on drugs while making them. That means a lot I think comming from a child who can watch Adventure time, Uncle Grandpa and Gumball with a straight face.
Hordak and his minions could easily be done with space marines.
-
Awesome thread. Some of us was only chatting the other day saying someone should do a proper not set of this Cartoon it would be awesome!
-
Fantastic looking ORCS. Very well done and thank you for posting the images - they made me smile.
Tony
-
Now all you need to do is add in a way of doing the cheesy morality message at the end of the game for that true '80s cartoon feeling... lol
-
No kidding. Just today I read, due to this very thread, a few pages on the MOTUS wiki and the entry for Stinkor had a funny anecdote: When the character was described, including his dubious "super-power", during a meeting of the cartoon story writers, they all burst out in laughter because he was regarded as a (quote) "walking fart joke", and they vowed to never make him appear in any of the episodes. lol

My wife would like a word with you, and by word, I mean 'beat with stick'. ;)
Awesome thread. Some of us was only chatting the other day saying someone should do a proper not set of this Cartoon it would be awesome!
Hell yeah - I nominate Kev of Hasslefree. He would give us a Teela to be proud of, and an Evil-lyn to feel guilty over.
My first thought was how the heck did the designers sneak him past the rather backwards 80's mindset that was the order of the day.
Then I thought, really considering the entire he-man concept must have been pitched like
"Its a range of men who are super muscled wearing various leather harnesses and pants like speedos......but made of fur!"
they were already so far down the rabbit hole that Fisto never even got a second glance.
Considering his fist, are you sure that it it was down a rabbit hole, and not up a different hole?
-
This thread has strayed far too much off course, I'd say! lol
Back to seeing miniatures, I demand it!
-
Nope, not until somebody tells me what Skeletor's generic minions were.
:D
-
"Hover-grots" :D
-
PICS OR IT ISN'T HELPFUL!!!!!!!
Or at least a link.
-
Okey dokey...Hover bots. At least in the cartoons these were the generic cannon fodder Skeletor troops.
-
In the movie, he also had generic stormtrooper-style faceless, armoured soldiers.
-
"I HAVE THE HAIRPIECE..er POWERRRRRRR!!!!!"
oh my, so wrong yet....er so wrong!!!!!
Flintstones next maybe... yaber daber ork......
-
They didn't feature in the cartoon or toy series, but one of the printed media had "Skelcons" or "Skelacons" as minions:

-
Always liked the Skelecons. I believe in the 200x series there were some generic skeleton warrior types used as troops.
-
(http://www.bustatoons.com/blog_images/blog_lazy_skeletor.jpg)
That picture is soooo wrong lol
"Hey sugardaddy... guess who's home?"
Even "Panthor" (looks horrible) looks disgusted.
-
White Knight, where did you find those pictures? That second image is truly disturbing, but the first one looks pretty creepy as well. Please tell me this isn't from a children's book.
-
This is from a children's book. lol
It's from this one, you can check out the whole story if you want: http://www.he-man.org/publishing/item.php?id=620 (http://www.he-man.org/publishing/item.php?id=620)
-
And children's books like this are why we grew up strong!
lol
I may have make some skelecons out of goblins...if I can figure out how to make the beaks and add horns.
Although I like the hoverbots - I just have no idea how to make them, much less make them orky.
-
Okey dokey...Hover bots. At least in the cartoons these were the generic cannon fodder Skeletor troops.
Do you think the Hydra minis hoverbots are close enough? I am thinking it would suffice, and he does quality stuff.
-
Try the hoverbots from the superfigs line. On my phone so I can't link to the old glory superfigs page.
-
Or this from Killer B Games:
-
Wow, those are practically perfect, aren't they?
-
Yes, I wonder if you could snip off the crest and collar for an even more perfect fit.
-
They actually look like a perfect-as-is-fit for a hybrid Horde Trooper/Hoverbot :) The armor, helmet and crest are spot-on.
-
yeah, I was thinking from the anal perspective of trying to make it look exactly like the originals, forgetting for a moment this is an Ork reimagining... lol
-
I think I would likely add the mechanical jaws that come with some of the ork stuff onto the face of the hoverbot...of course, I have to wait until next month before I can even consider spending any money. :(
-
Yes, that would make a lot of sense within the theme.
-
I demand updates on this project! :D
-
Yeah, yeah. I have been caught up in painting a Blood Bowl team of Impact! Valkyries, and a couple of other projects. Nevertheless, I do have Fistork and Ram-Ork awaiting some final touches of paint on my desk, and Teelork is about half-converted.
-
And, as I promised, more Mastorks of the Universe.
The Mighty Fistork!
And He-Ork's erstwhile ally, Ram-Ork!
I will probably have some more here and there over the next few months, but my main focus has moved on to other wee projects - I suffer from squirrel syndrome just like any other minis collector/painter.
-
They're GREAT, I love 'em! lol
-
Always loved Fisto & all his inappropriate awesomeness.
-
Fantastic miniatures! :o
I still have these He-Man childrenbooks, I loved them back then and they are even now very cool. ;)
-
Updated! So, the mechamen were good fits...
I did not do any converting, and I may go back and add more details, but I was trying to match them up to the old cartoon in coloration.
And now, I could replace an ally with a couple of goons!
-
Utter nonsense. I love it!
-
Full of WIN!
-
These look great, especially with the black & red bar that looks like a mustache or lower lip lol
-
Thread Necromancy! Skeletork be cursed!
Now that there's another MOTUS miniatures project (http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=107478.0) ongoing, I hope we will see a continuation of this one as well! :-*
-
Hear hear!
-
Well done with the threadomancy, sir!
Two reasons...
Firstly: I love this project and would like to see more too.
:D
Secondly: I forgot that I had those Bots and now I have a use for them, so I need to dig them out.
Thanks for the timely reminder.
:D
Righto, then....whatever happened to TeelOrk?
:D
-
I, for one, would like to see Ninjork!
Or maybe Hordork and his Snorkmen.
-
This thread is pure gold! I need more!
-
Huh. I never did finish TeelOrk. I better go find her and finish her...
-
Huh. I never did finish TeelOrk. I better go find her and finish her...
Good man!
:D

Better get to it, I also am interested in this thread!
