Title: Thank you, Captain Blood!
Post by: Garanhir on November 07, 2015, 01:50:33 PM
Just wanted to thank the good cap'n for recommending Winson & Newton "Galleria" matt acrylic varnish.

It's wonderful stuff. Brushes on a treat, nice matt surface, and no nasty residue.

Haha - thank you Garanhir  :)

In that case, I really should say thank you to Pat - Theoldschool - who recommended it to me several years ago. Haven't looked back since. All my varnish disasters are behind me :)

I'm in good company, then, seeing as I also use that varnish.

I'm assuming it's purely a brush on varnish, yes?

I dread the thought of spraying newly painted figures only to give the "the white spot"!

I have literally never had the misfortune of that. I think I would switch to airbrushing varnish if I ever did. I've done some gloss coats that way prior to washes and decals and its worked well enough.
