Title: Victorian Sub scratch build
Post by: Red Jester on December 12, 2008, 10:05:05 PM
Hey all

Like a recent post from Svennn, i too have been beavering away on Victorian Sub and thought i would post a few wip shots of this project. It started out as a copy from the amazing Kevin Dallimore conversion but i got a bit carried away and couldnt stop myself tinkering a bit  ;D

Materials used are: Balsa Wood, Foam Card, Plastic Card and a few bits form my bits box.

Very nice indeed.

For those less talented (or lacking time, or both...  lol), PMC games offer a nice sub (nearly) every week (or sometimes more frequently) on Ebay:

I've got some (unpainted), must do something about that one of these days...  :D

I'm looking forward to seenig this sub completed (and Rudi's fleet painted :) ).

I really must make up some submarines, as I would like to run the submarine pen raid game from the GASLIGHT ACW supplement.

Latest update:

Managed to do a little work on the sub today. Now has some grab rails, aerial and im thinking of adding the lantern to the back of the sub.

Next is to add some welds, rivets and fill in a few gaps with milliput or green stuff.

All comments suggestions are allways welcome  ;)

I just got my hands on one of these and I've decided to convert it to a flyer. Attach a hull and a few other bits and I think it'll work.

Before you start: may I suggest you connect the lower part of the hull (to be built) to the top half (the sub) by means of small power magnets?  That way, if the captain wants to he can land the flyer on water and use it as a ship (or sub...).  A real "flying boat"!

Thank you, but I'm afraid I cannot except any commission below the rank of General...  lol
