Title: Agis Zombicide Black Plague/ Green Horde minis
Post by: Agis on April 03, 2016, 09:49:42 AM
(http://www.adpublishing.de/assets/images/Black_Plague_Ann.jpg)
Ann the somehow crazed Nun of the core Black Plague box.

Very quick paint job to get her on the table as fast as possible. I also tried something new for me, a painted only base, no texture at all involved.
I love the game addition, but the medieval fantasy setting is really not my thing.  :(
I really hope for a Zombicide SF setting!

Nice work as always.  Think the scifi Zombicide thing is a sure thing, just give them time.  The games are too popular for them to skip a futuristic version, and once they have all three setting periods out I bet we see a set of rules for crossover gaming between them.

Some of my friends are REALLY bitten by the Black Plague bug, a good opportunity to finish some of the minis that were already too long on my painting table:
Mizar and Donna Carlotta!

Group shot of the heroes painted so far, Little Prince (Gipi), Mizar (Bonner), Donna Carlotta (Gipi), Ann (Core box).

Donna Carlotta from the Gipi box ; I really, really like the sculpt. Not the stereotype girl in metal bikini hero!
Consequently I put some extra effort into the painting...

I bought this game a week ago and we promptly played the first two mission (0-1) the same evening. After the usual learning curve we had a lot of fun and some good laughs :) I haven't played the normal Zombicide game but I really like the medieval setting and I plan to get some expansions soon, as I think that the measly two dungeon equipment cards and low number of different enemies will get old fat :)

Your minis are great as always, of course. The flat painted base looks good! A thick scuplted or flocked base would look strange on the largely cobbled streets.

If you have any unpainted expansions (not interested in the guest stars though) you want to get rid of drop me a message ;)

Wow if these were quick jobs then I'm amazed.  :-*

I just hope to get to the level. Great stuff.

Thanks folks!

Uups, no - only Ann was quick painted. Mizar and Carlotta are full effort!

Expansions - there is only the Wulfsburg one.
All the rest are minor tweaks.
Cabal of Necromancers, NPC Zombies etc.

I would also advice to play the Core box missions just out of the box, it soon gets very strange when you randomly drop in weapons from Wulfsburg etc.

I'm a big fan of Gipi's work, so I'm really excited about these models! They look quite well done.
I love your pj on "Principino" too: very in the mood of the game art!

Big thanks - I took extra pains to get the "Brutal" look right!
I really like the 4 Gipi heroes, they make also a lot of sense game wise.
Nice synergy.

Amazing what you did to those models... Both choice of colours and the quality of your painting are as inspiring as outstanding. Love them  :).
Btw, did you need to straighten the plastics a a bit or were yours good ebough alreay? My plague doctor e.g., his sword looks like a pig's tail... And also the hard-to-remove mouldlines have stopped me from trying to paint them so far...

LOvely brushwork as always, particularly on that big lass.
She is a really good sculpt, full of character, much more like e Sister of Sigmar should really look like.
 :-* :-*

Our group have played the first five missions from the box over the last few weeks and I have thoroughly enjoyed it as a nice break from 'standard' tabletop gaming. I think I prefer this version to the modern setting, though.
That may be due to the fact that I prefer 'fantasy' settings for gaming over more 'real' alternatives.

And I do know that Zombies are not real!
 ;)

The most of my base game models were also bent, mostly swords, but I found that just giving the part a quick bath in hot water makes it straighten out on it's own without the need for an additional shock therapy in cold water  :)

I simply scratched the mold lines away, most swords were straight, if not I dipped them in hot water (half a coffeecup water for 1 Min in the Microwave at 900W), straightened them out and fixed them under cold water - Done!

LOL, for me it is the other way around, I really dislike Fantasy settings, but I agree  Black Plague is the more seasoned game compared to the original Zcide.

I am still hoping for a SF version!!!

I am sure they will bring one out as making a new Zcide setting is like having a licence to print money.

I think they will want to flog BP to death first.
Zombicide is an eternal moneymaker if they are clever with their new releases.
The possibilities are almost endless.

:o Really, what more to do in Fantasy?

I realise that they have already made just about everything you could want.
I reckon they will just wait until sales start to slow and the enthusiasm has died down a little before they do their next release.
There are still plenty of potential customers out there for the BP stuff at the moment, though.

Also, maybe another expansion could be added, but they do seem to go 'all-in' with everything on the KS and then move on, so we shall see.

Scowl (Batman) the Dark Knight - Kickstarter Exclusive bonus mini. I took pains to get the Batman colors right and still keep the Medieval look.
Beige utility belt, not yellow etc.

I really like the minis, rules wise he is a bit week IMO.

Great work!
 :-* :-*

I did not look at all of the added characters available for the game, as I was skint at the time of the KS and did not want to torment myself, so had not realised that Batman was one of them.
OMG!
 8) 8)

I am sure that you have plenty more surprises for me up your sleeve, so I will refrain from checking out the other characters until you show your versions of them here.

Beautifull paintjobs.
So many games to tempt me, so little time

Excellent painting!

Donna Carlotta would make great ogre for Mordheim Sisters of Sigmar. Could you make a comparison picture with other manufactures?

Sorry, can't help, I have sold all my Fantasy minis.
Donna is however 35mm tall from feet to top of head, around 33m from feet to eye.
Hope that helps.

The base on Scowl was a bit warped, stuff like this really gets on my nerves (yes I am that way), so I decided to rebase my minis.
I took a negative using milliput from a cobblestone base. I then stamped it to the final base again using milliput as the base material.

The same was used with the KS 1st Player Coin to create Ann’s base.

Rebased White Walker Zombies, another really fast quick paint.

I finished my Gipi survivors!
I really like this set, not the shining heroes you expect, grimy and shady characters right out of the fighting pit!
Gamewise they work good together.

Back to Zombicide Black Plague - Grin and Shalheira from the Edouard Guiton Guestbox are painted!

Grin (The Joker) an additional Necromancer - Kickstarter Exclusive bonus mini.
An incredible well sculpted mini with lots of hidden details that you only recognize while painting (at least me).
Please note the sculpted base with extra greenish shade...  ;)

The sheer amount of detail on this miniature is simply breathtaking!
For the base I used again my milliput negatives.

Last week I received my Green Horde Wave two package.
It kicked me back into Zombicide painting. Two survivors of the Adrian Smith Hate box are finished.
The expansion itself is nice, but most of the Orc minis are way too anime style fantasyish for my taste...
Anyway, great value and some really nice mini, more soon!

I'm really digging the almost porcelain skin on Cul'nar.
If you ignore their connection to the Hate comics, the minis fit very well together with Dr Stormcrow and Grin!

Well, the inspiration comes from these comics:
https://imagecomics.com/comics/releases/chronicles-of-hate-hc

A brutal, dark and strange setting, and a comic without text!
And since Adrian is also highly involved with CMON, he created the 4 survivors for Black Plague.

Also the setting for the following skirmish boardgame:

More and bigger RATS!  ;)
The Abominarat, the King of Ratz Necromancer and a Swarm of Ratz from the “No rest for the wicked” box.
I removed the spikes from the big fat rat (I really dislike the spike look of zombies) and applied some extra glossy varnish over all blains.
The base is an oval mdf base, stones are created by milliput and a texture roller.

The next victim (Celia la Santa from the Gipi box) of the big fat rat together with some old GW plastic and metal rats.
I am planning to use the giant rats as zombie runner.

The Swamp Troll Abomination.
I really like the Cthulhu Deep One look! And since the Troll emerges from water tiles I gave the mini a glossy finish.
I also rebased it on a smaller oval base since the tiles becomes very crowded once you reach orange or red level...
