Well I suppose I'm in. lol
Despite only painting 7 figures in the last 3 months when in the last 3 years I've painted less than 7 figures combined. Oh boy! But maybe, just maybe I've found my painting mojo. I expect to fall miserably behind for the August and September goals but should be able to pick it up from October - January.
When Northstar became the official manufacturer and distributor for Copplestone Castings, they had a little sale and I went a little crazy. This is just my infantry and artillery elements. I also have some militia, armour, cavalry and a one plane air force. But I'm not counting them in this project.
50 Riflemen, 10 Assault Troops, 10 Dare to Die Troops, 4 man command squad, HMG, mortar and field gun. Bringing the total to 84 men, 3 artillery pieces.
Which means I need to paint 14 men per month and an artillery piece every 2 months. Doable o_o

My rationale for entering is spookily similar to yours; Very little painting done in recent years and the Copplestone sale used to expand my existing Chinese forces.
Even the Warlord name I was considering, Lo Fat Chow, isn't a world away from yours. Chinese Warlord Diet War? lol
Good luck for the forthcoming campaign.

Great to see another Warlord General enter the fray! I have declared this year to be the Year of the Warlord Chinese for me and like you took advantage of the Copplestone sale. I made great progress early in the year. So where am I now? Stuck on a large group of US troops from the 1918-19 Siberian Intervention for the past two months! lol lol I am hoping that you fellows will inspire me to get back on track!!

Welcome to the madness! It's amazing how one little Warlord skirmish force can start to grow. I think I'm around 60+ figures with vehicles now and the only thing slowing me down is the storage box I picked is getting full.

Thankfully joekano has some flags I can download for the banners.
And I think I've just stumbled across a colour scheme that is both visually appealing and super easy...time will tell...

Quick update:
The struggle is real!
I've finally :) tracked down enough metal washers from Home Depot after checking both Rona and Lowe's for about 10 days... :(
I've based 20 44 troopers for the first deadline (or two).
Now I'm waiting for a dreadfully slow order which contains my Army Painter base spray. :'(

Update
My Army Painter order was part-refunded! Got the brushes but no primer... :'(
No explanation given but maybe couldn't send spray can via mail?
Now I have to find a spare moment to head into the city to pick some up.

I squeaked into a much closer store and picked up a can of Wolf Grey Army Painter spray. Was originally going to use Uniform Grey but I really don't know when I can make it to my normal store.
Primed 20 figures this evening and painted a test figure. All that's left is the basing.
Now I'm not going to win any awards but it is a table top standard I'm good with.

Well, I dreadfully failed the August 1st deadline (only the test figure painted and 29 others glued to washers and primed) but I was fully expecting to.
Made some real progress for the September 1st deadline. Batch painting is both efficient and mind numbingly annoying. I should be able to show some more finished figures by then.
I got some good advice from Marianas Gamer a la Orctrader and am trying to apply the technique but am having mixed results.

This is the force to be completed. The keen eyed will notice that several other troops are painted as well. I actually painted 44 figures but only based 20. The other 24 troops I will base for September as August I won't have very much hobby time so I got a little head start.

I think next week I'll start the final rank and file troopers for the November dead line...I want to start the artillery but am worried I could lose/see a decrease in my mojo after so best get the bulk out of the way

Last month I had started the Dare to Die troopers and thought that finishing them would be a nice result for the month. I decided to push along a little further and try to close this AP project out. I've never completed artillery units before so this was a slight challenge but fun never the less. More pictures and waffle on my blog.
Notes: The white glue on the static grass tufts wasn't dry so please excuse the white puddles there.
I know the epaulettes and forage cap bands on the artillery figures should also be a different colour but I'm ok with it.

3 standard bearers (2 awaiting delivery)

Machine gun section (awaiting delivery)
Bandit chief
17 bandits
Motorcycle with machine gun sidecar
9 Cavalry (6 still to be purchased)
So 31 figures, 9 cavalry, a MG section and motorcycle MG.
Very doable, IMHO given the extended time frame and how much I accomplished last year.
I will also work on some other odds and ends.

4 New Ray Classic (3) Biplanes & (1) Triplane + pilots for each (pilots awaiting delivery)
Once those are done, I have some Brigade Games/Great War Miniatures WW1 Germans in the queue I'm planning on using for Freikorps. 24 Infantry, 1 MG section, and 1 field gun. Fingers crossed.
So that's the GRAND plan.
Hopefully I can snap a photo of what I finished for 2017 and what I have left to do.

Small update.
The outstanding Copplestone figures arrived now. Simply fantastic service. I had a tiny request and they delivered. Kudos.
I also painted the FT17 and 2 Rolls Royce armoured cars (but somehow lost a MG barrel :'( ) I need to get an assistant or something as I'm not in the mood to post photos. I'll do it later this week.
I'm taking an online course. 2 weeks til it's done so hopefully I can plow through the remainder once its over.

I really need to snap some photos but the summer was kind and the Chinese officers, bugler's, bannermen, troopers and MG crew are done.
As is the advisor and female companion.
Mini wise, all I have left are the bandits and the motorcycle with the side car.
The armoured cars, renault and leichter kampfwagen are complete.
I never ended up purchasing the extra 6 cavalry so I'm purposely not going to start the 3 I have.
The planes and pilots still need work as well as building flight stands for the planes but they are not of great concern as they do come prepainted.

Renault FT 17. The spray primer seriously screwed up. It is gritty on one side of the tank. Extra paint and ink wash helped to minimize it but it's noticeable. Am I going to fix it. Nope.

I finished the colour parties now.
The figures in peaked caps are my regular forces. The two in fur hats are my bandits. The picture is dark so the middle banner (yellow banner with the dragon) and far right bugler.

I am shocked that you think that your Chinese could ever be completed! It only mean that as the Dogmeat General's forces continue to grow that we will overwhelm you! Just as the Marxists point out, it is historically inevitable that the modes of production will determine that next dynasty will inevitably arise from the Dogmeat General's loins ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
