To bulk out existing forces I've been painting some more of the excellent Iron Duke figures.
I hope you like them as much as I enjoyed painting them, there are four infantrymen for both sides and four "big men" for the Brits.
-
Sterling work! Love the whites :-* :-*

Excellent painting! And a great inspiration to me to keep on, painting those mutineers!
What colour 'slippers' did you give the Indian sepoys? Sort of off beige?

The colour for the slippers is GW XV88, highlighted with a 50% XV88 and 50% white mix.

Indeed! Super stuff.
-
Cracking job as ever.
-
These look great.
After seeing your post, I went to the Iron Duke Miniatures site. They could do with your your pictures for advertising their minis, as nothing on show on their website is of a comparable standard to what you achieved.
-
Nice job again! Your colour palette works very well.
-
Excellent paintwork Jeff - they're great sculpts too.
Simon.

These are modern figures so somewhat taller then the old Perry range (if that's the range you are using) but they'll work a treat if that doesn't bother you :)
-
It doesnt bother me, I wil putting them in seperate units so it wont look too odd.
-
Lovely and crisp brushwork*, mate.
:-* :-*
*As always.
-
Lovely work!! :-* I do need some of those....

Very nice indeed, sir.
:-* :-*
What is your recipe for the 'whites', mate?
My money is on Persil, Daz and Bold....
-
Great work on those minis Jeff :-*,bags of detail on the sculpts, picked out nicely by your painting style :)
-
Deeelightful! :-* ;D
-
I liked the look of the pale buff and white mixed so have nicked it for some Turks I am painting! Lovely sculpts and great paint job. I am still a little put off by the prices to be honest but will no doubt cave in soon.
-
Very nice paintwork Jeff 8)

And I painted the join between the shirt and the shoulder strap with GW Dawnstone :)
-
All your figures brilliantly painted, but the mutineer artillerists are all the money! Really beautiful sculpts! Congrats!

Superb miniatures and fantastic paintwork! :-*
-
Thanks chaps more to come in the near future, but for now I'm going to paint some WW2 stuff and make some terrain :)
-
Pack IMREB11 to add to our games, more Officers to try and stiffen the resolve of the mutineer forces :)
-
Great, well painted stuff! Live, action poses! :-*
-
Lovely brushwork, mate.
:-* :-*
They do seem a little confused as to which way they should be going, though....
;D
-
Nice work on those Jeff, they look great :)
-
More goodness. I like the red especially. ;D
-
Neat. The positioning of the figures well describes the command and control of the mutineers :)
-
Amazing! Nice work.

Thank you all for taking the time to comment, couple more packs to come in the near future :)
-
Lovely brushwork, mate.

;D
"Follow me, comrades!"
"No, this way's quicker!"
"The Hyderabad roundabout is a nightmare at this hour! This way, I know a detour!"
"Surely the British are this way!? On me, chaps!"
-
In the third pic it looks like they are doing a song-and-dance number. Not quite sure we're ready for a West End musical about the Indian Mutiny, mind. :)
Lovely stuff, as usual.

Let me tell you this, my young padawan: if West End is ready to run a show like "Book of Mormon" (which I incidentally watch in Stockholm last Sunday) I'd say that no one will raise an eyebrow to 'Animal Tallowed Cartridges, the Musical!'.
-
Thanks guys, right I've been given a bit more info on the Officers uniforms. The hat band should be white and not in the facing colour and they should have cuffs on their coats in the facing colour. So a couple of photos of the altered figures are in order I think :)
-
Nice photo Jeff, pleased to see they're in a more orderly formation too, you're obviously acting on the feedback recieved lol.
-
Wonderful.
-
Couple more packs finished in 2017 :) This time IMREB 1c Mutineers in native dress and IMBC 17 Maudes battery.
The chap on the far right in the Brit photo is a member of the Bengal Invalid Artillery and the chap next to him is from the 64th foot. The remaining two are Royal Artillery.
Hopefully get a lot more of these done in 2018.

Gorgeous whites there.
-
Beautiful, what colours do you use for the Indian chaps if I may ask?
-
Thanks chaps
Beautiful, what colours do you use for the Indian chaps if I may ask?
Right Ben here goes
White is GW Dawnstone, Coat de Armes horse tone grey, CDA horse tone light grey, then white any white.
Beige is CDA horse tone dun, highlighted with the same colour mixed with white and then more white added and highlighted again.
Flesh is GW Mournfang brown, highlighted with the same colour mixed with white and then more white added and highlighted again.
Black areas are simply highlighted with Vallejo black/grey ( I can't remember the product number)
The wooden areas on the musket and the footwear is GW xv88 highlighted with the same colour mixed with white. I paint fine lines on the musket to give the impression of wood grain.
That's the main colours, I'm sure you have your own recipe for metallics and red etc. I hope you find this helpful :)
-
Great, neat paintjob, as white is "difficult" color! Congrats!

Looking forward to the battle reports
Going to need some more Mutineers for a proper battle report I think Colin.
-
Funny enough mutineers is what I am working on. Maybe some serendipity might get the two sides together.

Hi Andrea
The figures are mounted individually on British pennies which are approximately 20mm across. The rules we use are The Men who would be king from Osprey or Sharpe Practice from the two fat lardies :)
-
Wow, I just discovered this thread! These are beautifully painted minis!! :-*
