Another hugely successful KS I could not resist. Hawk Wargames got some bad press during the pledge delivery, for me all went fine.

PHR and UCM ships, I chose a black theme for PHR, we already see to many beige ones...
In addition IMO it fits the Alien style hull shape.
UCM is based on the MCRN colors (The Expanse).
I really like the PHR and UCM ship designs. The Scourge and Shaltari are not so much to my liking, I probably end up selling some...
The models are really nice, as far as the rules are concerned I have no real opinion since I only read them so far but did not play them.
(The landscape book however is a REAL pain to read!) :(
More pics as always on my site: http://www.adpublishing.de/html/dropfleet_commander.html

Lovely. Hilariously, I've got my first few PHR ships on the work bench in a glossy black scheme, and I've done three starter boxes and a battleship worth of UCM in a gray and orange pattern. Great minds think alike, right? :)

LOL, seems so or?
And I was thinking I am so unique... ;)

Beautiful PJs on them :-*

We're all special snowflakes. :)
I was inspired by Chris Foss artwork, at least on the UCM stuff. Still not settled on the PHR scheme. May try a nebula effect on the black shell parts, or maybe a striped camo pattern. Inclined to agree with you about beige being out, and that banana fleet scheme I've seen a couple of times is a pass as well.

Nice work. From when I first saw the Dropfleet ships, especially the UCM, I thought they were some of the coolest designs of starship we've yet seen in miniature. Very military look to the UCM, and very alien* look to the others whilst still looking like they mean business.
*obviously PHR are alien compared to regular humans... :)

Lovely work 8) 8)
Did you spray the gloss or was it brushed on?
cheers

Well yeah. They're POST-humans, after all. :)

Just had to cover myself from someone saying "BUT PHR ARE HUMANS!" lol
-
Did you spray the gloss or was it brushed on?
Normally no (the Alien minis are brushed),
But the PHR is sprayed.
-
That PHR one really feels like a "alien" already, shiny black sleek head and green internals... o_o
Lovely work, I'm secretly hoping I find somebody to play this with and have no excuse left not to buy it. ;D

Well, you convinced me to put in a bunch of extra work and do nebula effects on my PHR instead of sticking with gloss black like I'd originally planned:

Couldn't bring myself to imitate your scheme that closely. :)

Great work Agis.
Those miniatures are fantastic.

LOL, no problem -copying would be the best praise! ;)

1st Scourge (a Djinn) got painted, very easy and fast paintjob.
The models are very well designed, but the design of the Scourge is still not my thing...

Nice. The Scourge do assemble and paint up fast, but I'm inclined to agree, they're my least favorite of the fleets mostly because the cruiser kits feel like they're missing out on some of their potential. Having more different "wings" and slightly more varied main-hull weapons would have been nice. The frigates I kind of like, and the battleship is a great (albeit expensive) sculpt with lots of kitbashing potential. Overall the fleet feels like it has a bit less unified an aesthetic than the other races.
-
Might be easy and fast but it still looks great :-* :-*
There's a definite Vorlon vibe to it as well 8)

Nice try Agis lol ! The models look awesome :-* as usual but there is no way I'm buying into another range of models because you made them look so good. I am however planning to paint a ship for 28mm scale as a hero ship for Rogue Stars (AMT Jupiter 2 from Lost in Space '98) and will probably take inspiration from your gray/orange scheme. I'm a huge fan of the Expanse on screen and paper.

but there is no way I'm buying into another range of models because you made them look so good.
Very much this.

Well, you could try buying them because they're beautiful, extremely versatile models that not only have a solid and innovative native rules set but also work fine for many other popular starship games like Full Thrust, A Sky Full of Ships, Starmada, etc.

Yes, I could.
