Nice collection! Bryan came out really well and the zombie group shot looks good as well (I might say kinder things but the pic is so small I can't be sure :P ) . I like the size of the wrecked pick up. I'd heard that the plastic components didn't size accurately to the counters but if that CD rover is 1/56 it must be fairly close. Looking at the diecast I have earmarked for my representation they have been fitting on the footprints almost perfectly so I won't have to wait for availability of the scenery expansion locally before I get my core project completed.
-
Thanks.
There are more comparison photographs here: http://ultravanillasmurf.blogspot.co.uk/2016/12/walking-dead-all-out-war-scenery.html (http://ultravanillasmurf.blogspot.co.uk/2016/12/walking-dead-all-out-war-scenery.html)

... if that CD rover is 1/56 ...
It's 1/50, IIRC.
-
@Ultravanillasmurf
Those look great. I hope my go to stocks the set soon. I had a notification on the core set and sniped it immediately. I think it sold out almost as quickly and none of the expansions have arrived yet. Soon though :) ; I have lots of stuff I should be painting anyway.
@Steve F
It's 1/50, IIRC.
*Reads, "Pedantic bugger apparently"*
You did that on purpose! lol

Zombies, lots of them.
A mixture of Studio Miniatures plastics, Mantic plastics, Bolt Action plastics and West Wind SOTR metals. The bases still need harmonising.

Lovely stuff!
Pack of these may not go amiss:

Did not get TWD myself but immediately pre-ordered the scenery pack!
-
Thanks.
I bought two of the Studio Miniatures bargain boxes of WWW2 zombies and have a number of SOTR ones from their starter sets.
-
Hey, I almost missed this! Glad to see another Charles Stross aficionado on this site. Great figures here, the nondescript "William Killian" would make a credible Bob Howard if you gave him a phone and a Hand of Glory (earlier books) or horrifying psychic powers (later ones). Not sure if there's a figure out there for Mo with her violin, barring major conversion work :)
-
There was a discussion on using the Casual May figure.
-
Nice work! (The only problem with making him Bob is that he could wave his warrant card at the RHRs & they'd have to do as he says! If you hadn't already guessed, I'm also a fan of the Laundry series)
-
The only problem with making him Bob is that he could wave his warrant card at the RHRs & they'd have to do as he says!
Only post Fuller Memorandum, and the warrant card only works on the ones the Laundry raised.
I am using the Hasslefree Hazmat with computer as Bob, the Artist's Rifles being Hazmat troopers.
That is one of the reasons I was pushing the SDKFZ 2 on the Rubicon forum.

At Salute this year, Mantic Games were giving away a free walker figure.
Having been impressed with Opponent Theory's tutorial (https://opponent-theory.blogspot.co.uk/2017/04/zombies-painting-tutorial.html (https://opponent-theory.blogspot.co.uk/2017/04/zombies-painting-tutorial.html)) I decided I would give it a go.
I suspect my paint box has slightly different colours, especially the Leather Brown.

As you may know in the "Days Gone Bye" expansion for "The Walking Dead: All Out War" there is a a character creation system. So I thought I would paint up a Crooked Dice William Killian figure as a survivor.

A comparison with Andrea. He is slightly smaller.
Once I have put together the character, I will post it. He is a Support character with Healing and Level Headed.
Any suggestions on rules for a Gladius (Sharp, Dual Wield are obvious. probably one White Dice).
I do not have Michonne so do not know what the katana rules are (I will need them for the next custom character, and body armour) but would like the gladius to be different.

Having painted up a model of William, I thought I should paint up a model of his wife.

And once more William is in the thick of it, he is glad he insisted on May completing the Kendo course.

Another long time between posts.
You would think that being the sheriff of a small town miles from anywhere would be easy.
Except for that Government research facility out on the edge of town, the unmarked lorries, the black sedans, the lights in the sky and the rumbles underground.
The sheriff's personal life may be a shambles, but when the ichor hits the ventilation system, he is there protecting his community with his trusty pump action shotgun.

Sophie was a difficult student.
On the day the world ended she was in detention. She spent that night locked in a school office (assisted by the bottle of whiskey she found in the filing cabinet she had prised open).
The following day she broke out of the office and escaped via the gym (picking up a baseball bat and a leather jacket on the way).

Great job on the cabin. Suitably spooky. Definitely inspired. Might have to get one of those.
-
Very "nice" cabin.
-
That cabin looks great. A good addition to a great collection. I like the pie shack as well -- a simple model but really adds to the weathered, lived-in feel of the scenery.

The base plinth is from Ainsty Castings Mixed Memorials set. As this is the undecorated one, I added a scroll from a Space Marine set on the front. The main part of the memorial was discarded and a Crooked Dice Scary Statue was pinned to the top.

Very nicely done.

Thanks.

Amazing collection! :-*
Quick question: Do the Crooked Dice security troopers come with separate heads/head options? I keep seeing them with different helmets (visored vs 'cage')… ???
-
Thanks.
Quick question: Do the Crooked Dice security troopers come with separate heads/head options? I keep seeing them with different helmets (visored vs 'cage')… ???
Yes they have separate heads. The pack of four had two sets of two head sprues (total of four heads), each sprue has one visor and cage head. Of course you could use other heads it you wish.
-
Many thanks for the info Mr Smurf! Very useful.
Looking forward to seeing what you do next. 8)

You might have noticed that the Law are facing two "new" TWD walkers that have not appeared in this thread...

"The whole thing starts with a box

(Are there locks?)
(Is it filled with a pox?)
(A pox? how delightful a pox)"

So what is in the mysterious box? Medical supplies, toilet roll, cans of beer, some one's head?
A Crooked Dice box on a Renedra 25mm circular base.
Soon I might actually get round to doing some new hobby stuff.
-
Lots of great stuff in this thread.... especially the WW2 re-enactors/movie extras... I always felt most zombie movies missed out on such things... like SCA zombies and cosplay convention zombies.

Plus all the expansions and boosters.

Some really nice stuff here, loving all the police and law men you've got. Might need to grab myself some of those.
-
Great work. There is always something so satisfying about seeing a load of miniatures in a box like that.

Thanks.

Even better when they are painted ^___^

Though there are plenty of different Walkers in TWD:AOW, TWD:AOW and Here's Negan! have the same Walkers, plus I got a freebie at Salute.
This is the one from Here's Negan!, it has the Zinge Industries half brick to tie it to the rest of my Here's Negan! figures.

When the new Out of Town shopping development was in the planning stage, one of the regularly asked questions was "where is the police station?".
There was a perfectly good police station in the centre of the town, but the Marketing Department's questionnaires and polls kept highlighting that the absence of a police presence in the development was putting people off.
So, to deal with this concern, a Police Office was included in the plans.
The Police Office would have a (civilian) receptionist during the day, and would provide facilities for the patrol officers so they would take their breaks there (rather than the doughnut shop or diner) to be a visible police presence.
The receptionist could deal with all the inquiries and local calls, contacting the patrols if required.
After a few years, there was a requirement for a communications room, so one of the locker rooms was converted.

All was fine until Joan, the receptionist received a call about a disturbance at the mini market...

Thanks.
While looking for some Crooked Dice Minions (for House Of Paper), I came across a stash of Crooked Dice Corn Dolls.
As a test piece, I assembled and painted one on a Renedra 25mm base.

Strictly speaking this should be in Other Games.

Lovely stuff, and I really like those SAS mask wearing troopers! How did you paint the black?
Gotta love an ever growing zombie swarm :D
-
Looking good
-
Some fantastic looking zombies there. Your terrain is none too shabby either.
The pictures tell fantastic stories.
-
Don't know how I missed this thread! Nice painting! :)
-
Thanks.
How did you paint the black?
Very simply. Sprayed Citadel Chaos Black. A coat of slightly watered down Army Painter Black. Painted the lenses. Dry brushed Vallejo Black Grey. Light dry brush Citadel Terminatus Stone, especially on the hard edges. Wash with Citadel Nuln Oil. Redo the lenses.

It has been a while (and this figure was painted quite a while ago).
This is Lilly, from eponymous booster set.
(https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqlMn7dkhxFMtrhihbhxFB_3cdrBMiyCg1eFl11IXiUrofWtnbiPo1asBo-92lULEE-RvzZ0X8k0yZFqlnvUMGGytaKQZGpGKl34awEA0L2KfRK7CtrGVeJ8y6InDsFCZLjm2613wP57LzsGOP27Dj_7rV4WOMz6RdWpSnFPrTb_jjW5hz7clrpWIcFjOO/s500/lilly-1.png)
In the comic and the novels, Lilly Caul starts out as a member of the Woodbury faction.
During the attack on the prison she does a Heel-Face turn and ends up as the leader of the Woodbury survivors.

This is the first actual TWD:AOW figure I have painted for a number of years (https://ultravanillasmurf.blogspot.com/2020/06/the-walking-dead-abernathy-woodbury.html (https://ultravanillasmurf.blogspot.com/2020/06/the-walking-dead-abernathy-woodbury.html) does not count and Lilly was painted before that).
Paul "Jesus" Monroe.

I am not sure if this needs a bit of wash shading.
Why Prodigal Son, Tom Payne who plays the television version was the eponymous character in the series Prodigal Son (and it tied in with the return of TWD:AOW).
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prodigal_Son_(TV_series) (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prodigal_Son_(TV_series))
-
That's a great figure, and you did an awesome job on it. I think washing would bring out some subtle details (like the front of his shirt), at the risk of "darkening" the overall look of the figure. However, with post-apoc, I don't think that would be a bad thing necessarily.

FWIW, I think that dude looks just fine as he is...
