Title: Agis Endure the Stars minis
Post by: Agis on February 11, 2017, 11:04:13 AM
Endure the Stars by Grimlord Games is an epic Sci Fi adventure board game for 1-6 players set on the exploratory spaceship the N.W.E Hikari.
A very successful Kickstarter that delivered with only 2 months delay.

Game component and mini quality is really good, the game play is very solid and great fun.
In a way Zombicide Deluxe Campaign in a SF setting! I love it!

First painted mini from the KS - the Sip Sentry robot. I loved the design right from the start, so consequently it is the 1st mini I paint.
Removing the inevitable mold lines is a bit of a pain, but more or less the same amount as Black Plague.

And before everyone asks, here is the always helpful comparison pic:

New to me as well.  Interesting sculpt there.  Bit smaller than I would have expected from the standalone image.

Awesome paintjob and ncie color choice. Thanks for sharing!

When did you get your pledge from the KS? Did you get a shipping notice upfront? Can't wait to get my stuff as well.

I'll have to see if the store was a Retailer participant. Kind of doubt it, but...

So far a GREAT game! :)

Bit smaller than I would have expected from the standalone image.

LOL, I was also expecting a bigger mini after the KS announcement:

I still love the mini!

Lovely work.

Smallish or not, the robot would make a nice 15mm scale mecha/warbot, wouldn't it?  Always nice to have figs that can scale-jump as needed.

Absolutely! He will even look cool next to a 10mm Dropzone or Heavy Gear mech!

OK, 3rd mini, I burned some midnight oil and finished him this morning: the KS exclusive Geneticist!

Medic, KS exclusive Geneticist and Sip Sentry Robot

I really like these minis!

The Primus - a GEP Boss. The Rhino like hide was begging to be dry brushed.

A real fast and efficient paint job done in under 1 h.
Dry brushing dark grey, light grey and some Sand colour. Then the orange and some inks.

I also updated my website, Endure the Stars now has a dedicated sub-section!

Like that one a lot, nice posing.  Shame I missed the KS for this one.

But hey, at least I finally got my Alien Host figs.  :)

Alas, so did my partners at the store, but they're sounding interested...

This one is new on me too, but if your versions are anything to go by then there are some top drawer figures in there.
All superbly painted, of course, with even your '1 hour paintjob' putting me to shame...

But this remark....:

In a way Zombicide Deluxe Campaign in a SF setting! I love it!

....has me really intrigued.
 ??? :D

Another mini done.

Basic GEP Critter - the Swarmer. Since there are 30 in the game box I looked for a fast way to paint them.
So a beige primer, after that a mixture of flesh and brown shade and the skin parts are done. While wet I mixed in some black on the head and primed the metal parts in matt black. Then leadbelcher metal and a black wash, some metal highlights and the blueish lights, again done under 1h. For extra protection I went for a glossy varnish, only the rim of the base received some matt black to be in lien with the rest of the minis.
OK? The result is not really fitting the artwork, but for me it works...

And to round things up, a nice group shot of the survivors so far painted:

Lovely paint on some great miniatures :)

Why do the humans/cyborgs just look like Infinity miniatures by another name? It seems that the sci-fi genre is saturated at the moment and needs something completely different to spice things up a bit.

That said, I quite like the big brute... he's like something Jason and the Argonauts might face on a desert island somewhere :)

Strange, for me they did not look like Infinity  :o, especially the Cyborg has a rather unique look.

They're all nice models, pity I'd not noticed this KS.
And your paint job does them more than justice  8) 8) 8)
The robot gives me a strong ABC warriors vibe.

Funny think is when I look at the brute he reminds me of a bipedal version of a Reek from Stars Wars Atrack of the Clones. Maybe it is just the colors Agis used.

Dann, true!
The colours came however from the EtS artwork.

Long time no posting, but I am finally back on track!

More EPS - a Jaeger and a Solomon are added.

I really like the Solomon design - do not get me wrong wrong I like all EtS minis, but the Solomon is particularly menacing and alien looking to me.
Painting was done as described for the Swarmer.
