Both very good, but I had to go for the stripey pants. :D

Beautiful painting Captain, I had a suspicion you'd be returning to the Age of Sail for this round :)

Both masterful jobs! And both have incredible details: The doctor's gold braiding on the cuffs of the officer, and of course, the Captain's stripey pants...wow!  o_o o_o o_o

Two marvelous entries! The spectacle of the first versus the simpler lineup of the second, and they're both excellent, in different ways. In fact, I'd even suggest that the difference presentations are designed to bring out the best of each entry. The simple lineup of Captain Blood's entry highlights the crisp handling of those striped trousers and the saturated colours of the reds and blues, while the movie-scene look of the Dr. Mathias's entry emphasizes the regimental feel of the miniatures, each a member of a larger unit in the middle of action. Wonderful, both of these!

With my vote they are dead even - very fair result, I feel as both are excellent.

WOW - you are really making it difficult this round.

Once again very well done to you both.

Beautiful painting Captain, I had a suspicion you'd be returning to the Age of Sail for this round :)

Thanks Matt. Yes, these tars are a pack of the recently released Perry Napoleonic landing parties. Very nice figures indeed, and a perfect match size-wise for my existing collection of Brigade Games British tars.

HMS Bellerophon was a 74-gun third-rate ship of the line of the Royal Navy, known to sailors as 'the Billy Ruffian'. She fought at the Battle of the Nile and Trafalgar. After Napoleon's flight following Waterloo, he found his escape blocked by Bellerophon, and she was the ship aboard which he finally surrendered, ending 22 years of war with France.

I try to do at least one 'pure' entry in each LPL, with just the figures comprising the team, and no scenery or extras. It usually loses lol
I fully expect this trend to continue, given the very wonderful job you've done on all those Hinterland sailors. Jason will be very proud  :)

Both wonderful entries gentlemen!

The stripes on the sailor's pants are super clean and straight, and they are all together excellent.

The Cannibal coast figs and setting are excellent as well with very well executed whites and a lot of character in those faces! Every figure and every pose, and all of the well-painted details tell a story in that picture.

Both excellent work painters!

thanks

Oh wow!  Of course I almost voted for the Hinterland sailors without even looking at their competition.  After scrolling down, however, I had to go back and forth a few times before placing my vote.

Edited!

They are great figures  :)

Back to scenery next week then...  :D
