This was a very tough choice!

Stunning scene, Admiral. And Joe, wow! The rich folds in the clothes of these guys...not to mention the checkered sash on the guy on the end. I think he and the Admiral's guy with the bib overalls would hit it off well.... lol

A stunning pair of entries, and both using Lead Adventure Miniatures. What a fortuitous match-up :)

Love the grungy look and detailing on the Contaminated mariners. The pentagram is brilliant.
But I have to say, Michael's rust-tastic starport scene is almost irresistible. A visual feast.

Well done to both of you. What a show  8)

Tough call!

I really like both of these entries, very tough decision.

The Astropolis scene is just how I imagined the setting of the miniatures range. A conglomeration of Rogue Trader style kitbashing done right :)
a mixture of quick parts, sarcastic humour, reserve, and caprice.

Impossible choice.  I finally went with the clothing folds, the checkered clothing, and the orange jacket's highlighting.  Both are outstanding.  Great jobs, folks!

Thanks all for the feedback and votes, appreciated!

Well Admiral, it's been a great race, and I'm happy to have had the pleasure to be paired against you! Your expansive scene setting is quite impressive and inspiring. Excellent entry overall, and good luck with the rest of the competition.

As for me, I think my undoing was perhaps the lighting overall, which washed out some of the detail that I put in and set a strange tone to the image. It almost completely covered up the 'M' freehand on the hat of the gentleman one in from the left. He was proudly showing off his Miskatonic University colors, but my lighting didn't do him any favors. That holds true for eyes on some of the figs, and the general ambiance. Additionally, I could have had a more expansive and inspiring scene setting. Something that told a wider story or hinted at a more expansive narrative... I'll have to think about that for the next rounds coming up!

Thanks again,
n
