Trying to change my avatar.  I keep getting: 

"Your attachment couldn't be saved. This might happen because it took too long to upload or the file is bigger than the server will allow.
Please consult your server administrator for more information."

Here is the weird thing.  I saved over the old avatar and used same settings.  Then tried your sample avatars and yep- no dice.

In photoshop it says as a 16 color GIF it is a mere 2.3K, and as a JPG it is 1.432k.  All 80x80.

Any ideas why it won't take it?

The function has become notoriously finicky, and we haven't been able to fix it so far.

I've had good results saving avatar pics as PNGs with medium colour depth, in the same filesize bracket you describe. I'll PM you and see if I can change the avatar file on my end.
