Offensive Miniatures vs...
« on: March 10, 2009, 11:49:25 PM »
Has anyone purchased these and have a comparison with other figures... particularly Foundry? Even more particularly: the Hostage Rescue range vs. Street Violence and Future Wars stuff. I'm still checking to see if someone has done this already but any help would be appreciated!

I'm waiting for those long-previewed riot squad figures to materialise. They look fabulous.

Apart from that, they haven't produced anthing that grabs me yet, although out of all the many ranges of WWII US paras out there, these look the best. Sadly, I'm not in the market for US paras.  :`

Agreed with Blood on both points. Very nice figures, but I'm just not interested in US Paras at the moment (maybe if they did the African-American paras who were supposed to go to Operation Olympic...) feel like the market's sort of over-saturated with this stuff as it is.

Probably worth snagging them if this is your thing.

I got some British Riflemen from them not too long ago. They're wonderful models, but they seem a bit tall for 28mm.

I'll try to make some pics tonight, but since they're already undercoated black, I'm not sure if the pictures are useful.

Ooh that was some great input guys, thank you!

As to the proportions, some of the figs look a bit on the tall side, but not totally out of scale. There are variances in real human proportions too. I actuall superimposed a picture of a Foundry figure with the OM one,, using the base a guide. They come in pretty close!

I'm going to get some of the Terrorists/Hostages and see how it goes.

What are people's experiences with purchasing from them?

I'd appreciate the pics a great deal mate :)

Thanks again guys!

Pics will follow tonight. As for ordering, they're rather busy at the moment, so it took a little longer than anticipated, but they informed me in time. Very pleasant and helpful company.

Also of importance is the fact that their miniatures are relatively mouldlinefree. So, prepping them didn't take long.

Ooh okay, that explains a fair bit. I sent a couple of questions and didn't get a reply. Regardless, I've put in an order for the Terrorist pack anyway. I couldn't resist ;) They'll make some interesting foes.

I'm terribly sorry for the bad pic, but lighting conditions are not that good. Anyway, I hope you get the idea of th sizes of these miniatures:

FLTR: Offensive Miniatures, Foundry, Artizan Designs, Perry Miniatures, Offensive Miniatures.

I'll make better pics on Saturday or Sunday.
