I agree.  This is the hardest one so far.  Both are excellent.

Both are great entries. Jan, the banner is spectacular, and the little kids running alongside the column are a nice touch. Wow!

I have to admit that the Banner is one of LBMs excellent decals.

Monstrously tough choice.
The kids are perfect.
The Baron von Ungern Sternberg is the one in the yellow coat, right? Where do the models of the baron and his retinue come from?

While it is difficult to actually see the quality of the painting work in these photos I think the Lt. Hazel entry has the upper hand.

Gorgeous paintwork on the horses, Matt. And another beautifully staged scene with the late romans, Jan.
Fantastic duell!  :-*

Both are high standard but, I have to go with "Ave Dux". Nice paint jobs, theme, and composition. Plus Late Antiquity is my favorite period.

I believe they still use that form of greeting in Nottinghamshire. Though it has mutated into "Ayup, me duck."
