Really nice, especially how you've made it fitting for a gaming table.

Thanks for all the kind responses! Glad people are liking what I've done so far

Okay, coming back to ask for some help. I'm wanting to some more scatter terrain to break up the scenario. Going to order some tents for the OPFOR to hang out in but I'm now looking for loose bits of cargo. Need to find some military look cargo containers. I also need to something that would look suitable to transport stacks of gold bricks for the central objective.

Awesome, if you're interested in playing a game I'm always interested in running something

Yeah, you need to think about how the plane wound up there.  It would skid along, which makes the placement of the house right behind it a little odd.  Also, think about how the wing would drag on the outside tip, so when it broke, it would actually be at an angle pointing back away to the left of the fuselage.  Those two little changes can make a big difference in the verisimilitude of the layout.

Agree - having the houses just in front of the plane also has the players thinking of the history of the terrain. And you could use the plane to cover the join between the two boards. Excellent stuff.

Wow, this thread has got a bit dusty. I should probably update this and tell everyone what's going on.

Since October I ran the game at Fiasco in Leeds, Vapnartak at York and was going to run it again at Hammerhead until it was delayed.

More importantly, I made a few tweaks to the plane (the point of this thread). There are more details on the blog but I've added some debris scatter terrain. I've also taken a dremel to it to make it look a little more banged up (which was the focus of today's post). Still not finished as there are a couple of bits of advice from this thread I haven't got round to implementing yet such as oil streaks.

Probably the best place to read more details on it is my blog - the hub for this project is at http://hntdaab.co.uk/blog/demo-game-operation-dragons-hoard/

Again the LAF community comes up trumps! What an original and well executed board! I’d love a shot on that!

Finally managed to catch up with game at Hammerhead.

Missed it at York, due to fire alarms, and socially irresponsible town planning ( made to enter the build right next to the bar after the fire alarm.)

It's definitely worth making the time to see if your ever at the same show as this game. As there's even more tweaks and subtle changes since the Picture taken at York.

Although the period and topic are definitely not my cup of tea. I still found it a pleasing board with plenty to catch your eye.

Was great to chat to you! Always fantastic to put faces to names. Thanks also for the painting advice.

Just this weekend, I ran this board again at the rearranged Hammerhead. Had a great time with it, especially with the latest set of tweaks. Unfortunately this is the last time I'm scheduled to run this game and not sure I'll fit another show in due to work stuff have This Friday's post will be the recap /post mortem on the product.

As promised, here is the final post on the crashed plane. Covering the final run at Hammerhead 2018 and my final thoughts on how it all went

It's on the blog at http://hntdaab.co.uk/blog/2018/05/04/operation-dragons-hoard-the-final-run-and-post-mortem/

Just want to say, thanks for all the advice and comments in this thread. It's been a great experience and all the help in the early days has lead to a rather nice final product I'm pretty happy with.
