...as the Governor's loss might seal the game at once, Aris is moving him out of range.
Here we see him perched on the rocks of the Guard Tower.

(The Pirates' former Captain is imprisoned there, but not a single pirate group managed to reach the place)
Now and then we had a hope that if we lived and were good, God would permit us to be pirates. – Mark Twain, Life on the Mississippi

Burn the Traitor's House -
again

As we said previously, the first to reveal the marker "Burn the Traitor's House", was a group of Bloodthirsty Looters, who, failing, moved next house for booty...

...next comes another group of Pirates with boarding pikes and cutlasses...
They attempt to burn the tavern (8+ needed) and they also fail!

(we can see the previous group leaving with the mules)

...so, what happened with the Traitor's House?
Remember the gunners who jumped last from the walls?
Here they are!
The tavern is burned to the ground and the Pirates gain one more Honor point.

Question for the fellows playing The Pikeman's Lament

In some round, for activating the Governor's group, Aris brought double sixes. A good event.
Then, he brought a five.
Looking at the Double 6 Effects column, this meant that "The unit you just tried to activate gains an Agitator, Priest or Hero".
Since there cannot be an additional hero with the Captain's group, our interpretation was that, in this case, this effect was irrelevant.
Is it right?

WOW!  You have a true talent - well done!  Can't wait to see the entire town laid out.  Way to go!

Promise kept. Pics of the entire town from many angles.

I love the painting of the brick, plaster and stonework on the buildings

For covering the walls, I don't use pumice or modelling plaster.
In paint shops I could find stucco for mending walls and many brown shades of stucco for furniture that adhere very well to cardboard and cork. Ground stonework was done applying a thin layer of stucco for wood and then making the individual stones with a toothpick before the stucco to dry. Many hands of painting.
On the contrary, I did not paint much the walls, I used a few different shades of pigments (off-white, ochre, light brown...).
The roof tiles are of my own patent, from Photoshopped paper glued on ondulated paper. Some brickwork shown where stucco is missing, is also from Photoshopped paper.
As for the stonework of the Guard Tower, this is the meticulous paintjob of mate Miltiades. The Town Square as well. Modest as he is, he is never boastful even for the most excellent of his works.

I appreciate your visit to this topic, maybe it is the first pirate scenario played with The Pikeman's Lament.

Just a couple of paragraphs to complete the AAR.

Pirates get reinforcements!

Only one third of the Town is now controlled by its defenders. They look at the direction of the sea...

...adding insult to injury, the Pirates throw double sixes and then with a 6 on the Events table, they gain a new unit!
As Guldor who was directing the Pirates' landing had lost already his two groups, he was entitled to carry on with a new landing, with a group of Bloodthirsty Looters (clansmen), who disembark at the foot of the rocky hill fort, near its cave!
Now, the numerical superiority of the Pirates is overwhelming...

In reply, the Town Defenders had also double 6s, but the event "Your Captain acts with panache" gave them just one honor point.

End of the game

Now, the remaining Town forces, having already taken more than 50% losses, are between hammer and anvil and we decided to call it a day.
The most convincing argument was the heavenly smell of the roast beef coming from the kitchen  lol

It was a great game, with a lot of suspense, ebbs and tides and at the point we stopped it the Pirates were winning 13-12.
Of course, if the game was to continue, the pirates would have swept the entire Town...

I'm very happy that the TPL rules we adapted for the pirate scenario worked extremely well and the players, although not acquainted with the rules played quickly and smoothly.

I would like to thank Miltiades, Guldor, Aris and Greg who participated.
Miltiades and Guldor promptly sent me the pics they had taken, so, adding them with mine I could compile from three sources all this that I shared with you and you had the patience to read.
