...the Governor loses again!
Now and then we had a hope that if we lived and were good, God would permit us to be pirates. – Mark Twain, Life on the Mississippi

Lamoyo, Peepington with the rest of his men and Captain Vesselbloom are still after him!
But this round Yellowbeard is in a safe distance!

Peepington's men by the boat, waiting for Yellowbeard to appear!

Yellowbeard, reaching the parapet of the Grand Redoubt, finds that his way to safety is blocked! He must fight!

Meanwhile...
(sorry, I forgot to take a pic of this action)
...at the inner side of the walls, Antiochos with Blueberry's pirates is attacking anyone around him... but not Yellowbeard! Is he trying to help his mate escape? Is he crazy? Will he let him steal his boat?

Among his victims is Captain Vesselbloom. He got a hard beating, he himself got a wound he didn't manage to save with a 3+ and he is carried away, retreating, out of action for one round. One pretender for Elmira's hand is knocked out!

Yellowbeard watches Peepington's men, waiting for him!
Wisely, he keeps his character close to the girl and send his men down!
The ensuing melee to Guldor's disappointment, is a total triumph for Miltiades! He brought a canister of 5s and 6s, dispersing his foes!

Now, Miltiades climbing down with the girl, is ready to take the boat and win the game!
But...

A few meters, near Yellowbeard's group, Antiochos is appearing on the walls!
He also attacks the remnants of Peepington's men!
His intentions now revealed!
He wanted to remain alone with Yellowbeard and clear the claiming of the girl in a final duel!

Yellowbeard's men hold their breath!
Blueberry has descended to the beach!
He will attack his former friend!
They draw swords for the final duel!

Miltiades wins!!!

With another fistful of 5s and 6s, Yellowbeard prevails!
With two lieutenants and two men left, he takes the girl and embarks the boat!

Errol Flynn sailing gloriously away!

A Hollywood-esque finish!!!

Too late!

Captain Vesselbloom, reaching the parapet, realises that his dream is over!
Elmira is abducted and Lord Ruffingston will have to pay a dear sum of dubloons to take her back!

A last scene of the table...
Soon, San Padolfo will retake its everyday rhythms of life...

And here it is me!

Hidden at the top of the little hill fort, I saw everything and I wrote down all the story!

While I was finishing my report, Elmira came and leaned over my shoulder.
-”Are you done?” She whispered softly.
Stunned by her unexpected appearance, I turned and looked at her straight at the forehead, avoiding to be mesmerized by her dark, piercing eyes…
-“We will have a Blue Moon tonight”, I said, coloring my voice with the most romantic tone I could ever have.
-”I prefer Essex”, she replied. -”But not in 15mm”.

What happened to Captain Vesselbloom after the battle?

Some people say that misfortune strikes thrice...
Adding insult to injury, he found his ketch half sunk in the warm, sandy beach of San Padolfo...
Bow down, poop up.
What happened?
The rest of his crew, had plundered a tremendous amount of tomatoes from the famous local Pantolfian tomato producers, but the vessel was wrongly laden and ready to sink!
The incident was forwarded to him by a local, not English speaking, who was shouting:

-Ketch up!

Since then, this word has been adopted by all enthusiastic tomato pulp consumers!!!
At least, Captain Horatio Vesselbloom, managed to link his name to posterity with this incident I happened to witness!  :D

Lord Ruffingston: The Governor. Governor? Ruffingston was a humble rabbit breeder in Britain, but went bankrupt when the government raised the taxes of rabbit food. He sailed to San Padolfo dressed with a rabbit fur coat and the locals thought he was the new Governor.
Τhose are slanderous lies! The coat was pure mink.
And the day after arriving at the island Lord Ruffingston produced the proper paperwork that named him the Governor to a citizen's meeting.
He would have done so on the day he arrived, but ink takes longer to dry in humid climates.

(you can tell who played his Lordship in our game, can't you?)
