All looking very nice!  Thanks for sharing.  I look forward to seeing the full set-up in time.

The hill was quite bulky, so it had to be made light and hollow. I destroyed a foamboard protective frame and cut it to irregular pieces to imitate rocks. I kept only four straight sections to make four pillars which support the base of the top where the small fort was built. The sides of the hill were partly covered with dry bark gathered from the neighborhood pines. The gaps remaining were covered by some sort of "granite" paste for train modelling, then the whole set of rocks was painted and drybrushed with different shades of grey. Flocking and real spice added for vegetation and here are some pics to show the details of a rocky hill, I'm proud of the final result! (My first try)

...local legends say that at the base of the hill, there are at least two caves, where the pirates hid their treasures...

Some very nice details there- they really add to the scene.

I tried to blend the pieces of the tree bark with alternating patches of NOCH compound "granite". Very useful material, it comes as a grey powder and when you mix it with water it doesn't stay as a smooth mass of mud, but it make small conglomerations and starts to wrinkle. With a spatula you can make the wrinkles follow the cracks of the bark.

Pirate Island Port

Every Pirate Island that respects itself, has got to have a port, errr, at least a pier...
Either my pier was not so photogenic, or I was in a terrible hurry to watch a Champions League match, most of the pics came out blurred, so I'm not ashamed to show but a few of them:

The Seashore Battery

For the protection of the little port, there is a small seashore battery post:

Love the stonework and the pier. Looking to add a similar pier to my pirate town eventually!

Thanks! The stonework was done using putty for wood. It comes in many shades of brown. I smeared a small amount on the surface and, before it cured, I used a toothpick to make the stone contours. Then, much brushwork with different tones of grey, sepia and a final dry brush with gull gray and white.
