Congo, Adventurers in Darkest Africa

A couple of weeks ago Lewis and I started playing Congo and liked it a lot!
I've just added a photo report of first game on my hobby blog.

Hopefully I'm going to get a game of this in soon. All these reports we've been having lately are really making me look forward to it. I like your MDF stress tokens. I may well have to invest in a set.

How long do you find a game lasts?  I had a test game with admittedly only 15 figures a side, but it was over pretty quickly.

We found that games lasted between two and two and a half hours.
We were playing with 70 points, 6 turn games. I think it will get easier with familiarity.

Yesterday, I ran some Army Painter Quick Tone over my set of Congo Perspex Stress tokens, which really brings out the engraving!

It's a great set of rules. We find games last about two hours.
That's with about 4 or 5 units a side, so 20-25 figures a side.

Last week Doug and I had a fantastic game of Congo - the miniatures game for adventures in the heart of Africa. We played the scenario called Escalation along the Nziari.

It features a wide river running down the center of the table, objective tokens in the middle of the river and crocodiles. The crocodiles seemed to have won, this replay....

Lots more photos and a write up of what went on, on our hobby blog @

Thank you. It is a very colorful genre (at least on the table top), I do wonder if it was thus in real life too!

Looks like a lot of fun! I quite like the African idols you use - who makes them?

They look like the Monolith Designs idols to me:
