Cultists?
« on: March 17, 2019, 07:01:25 PM »
All,
I'd like to get a few robed cultists to add to my Post-Apocalyptic forces.  Can anyone suggest figures that will match up well with the Lead Adventure PA models?  I do haver a bunch of pulpy cultists from Brigade and Pulp Figures, but they are puny compared to the Lead Adventure models.

Maybe Crooked Dice. Their figures tend to be a nice size.

It's not big, or clever, but let's do it anyway

To match with LAF post-apoc, how about Frostgrave Cultists?

They are multi-part plastic, to easy to adapt for any genre.

The Frostgrave figures would be great, but then I'd have to find modern weapons that match the Lead Adventure ones., ie AK74s, shotguns, etc.

Like these?

Not exactly gritty realism but then again your setting does feature psychos runnibg around in robes.

Not bad, but a bit too SciFi for what I want.  The Lead Adventure minis all have current Soviet weapons.

Yep, I think TAG weapons and Frostgrave Cultists are the way to go.  Thanks guys.

The best option for weapons I've managed to find  so far is Anvil Industries "Regiments" bits collection. Here is the link to Anvil Industries site: http://anvilindustry.co.uk/Regiments/Weapons

AK wielding guy was converted using Anvil industries weapons and I think that his weapon looks just right in terms of scale and sculpting style with LAM minis.
I'm currently in process of converting a few more minis to western style weapons bought from Anvil Industries to use them as "Freedom" faction in my stalker games and they look pretty good too.

P.S And forgot to mention that Anvil Industries released a bunch of assorted cultists not long ago: http://anvilindustry.co.uk/Regiments/regiments-robed-cultists

I had those RAFM Cultists a while back. Metal, separate arms, easy to modify but stiff poses and a bit spindly. Not at all chunky like the LAM figs.

Speaking of Cultists tho, I recently nabbed a box of Wyrd's Doomseekers to use as fantasy cultists.

-Frostgrave Cultist Heads and Bodies
-Victoria Miniatures Winter Arms

In my experience, Frostgrave minis are slightly smaller than most other Heroic 28s. Victoria's arms match up but bits from other makers like Mad Robot and Anvil Industry are ever so slightly too big.

-They aren't used in these pics but for the sort of weapons you're after, I recommend Forpost D6, a 3D printing Shapeways shop

There are the former Wargames Factory weapons available in the Warlord Project Z boxes.

I used them with Warlord Americans.

The arms and weapons should work with the Frost grave Cultists.

Does Hasslefree do cultists anymore?

Otherwise Crooked Dice with a side order of their weapons.

I will probably just end up re-painting and slightly converting some GW chaos cultists that I got form my son in law.  They look about right, and match up decently with the Lead Adventure minis.
