Is Dagon a conversion?

No, Fenris Games FGDO12 Dagon. I think I had it for one year unassembled and then for another one or two undercoated. It felt like too much work to fit into previous LPLs' schedules, but this round's theme (and given examples) felt strangely appropriate. Besides, now it was actually faster to paint this one than build some other multi-part big guy...

There's a bit of an odd mismatch between the sculpting style on Dagon's body and the head, I can see why Sinewgrab thought it was a conversion. Still a very cool figure! Who makes the various fishmen? I kind of half-recognize them but not really...

The Space Marines look nice and clean, yellow and grey can both be hard colours to get looking smooth and consistent, nicely done there!

The fish head and scales are fairly easy to explain, but it's the dinosaur legs that stretches our imagination. Then again, many creatures of ancient mythology (such as Dagon, the fish-god) do that as well...

That's from the lower end of "half". lol

RAFM (recent production from their KS / 7th ed lines)
Black Tree

Coincidentally, one of them is carrying the axe that was used as the main sculpting tool of the Black Tree minis. Apart from dodgy work in general, I really couldn't figure out, how the shields are supposed to work. Oh well, if I mix them with a bunch of other fishmen, hopefully nobody starts studying the shield straps. ::)
