It would be funny to make a phone call to a friend and say:
-Hey man, I'm short on ripped heads, again!  lol
Now and then we had a hope that if we lived and were good, God would permit us to be pirates. – Mark Twain, Life on the Mississippi

Haha, I've had a similar conversation though... have been thinking of finding some good ones and get 3d sculpted versions of them to print when needed. Seemed like too much work I know too little about though.

Most bare heads are metal. I rip them off all kinds of dark ages miniatures or anything that looks right.

Good! As great as plastic is, I don't think you should rely on just plastic heads. If a metal head can be sawn off neatly, do it!!!

I remove the heads of ALL my metal Perry miniatures if it's a clean cut, simply to swap them all round so they don't look like everyone else's. :)

Din you are too kind!

Charlie i know right, you put a lot of time and effort into the miniatures so you want them to have this unique feel. I will probably keep cutting up things for this army for a long time still.

Although transforming miniatures gives a lot of work its very rewarding. We end up with unique figures and above all that one we always wanted in that precise position and equipment. ;)

Keep them coming both of you Breazer and Charlie.
Always a pleasure to see your works. :)

Westwind make some very characterful heads for their 28mm Arthurian range and they are available seperately from the figure packs.

https://www.westwindproductions.co.uk/index.php?route=product/category&path=192_69_145

They even knocked up a custom pack for me of heads from various different packs (though it did cost me extra). The heads scale well with the Perry and Northstar bodies I’ve tried.

Indeed West Wind Arthurian heads are great.
I use them a lot in my conversions and i think they have a 20% discount runing.

Hello friends,

I have been working on another picture again. This time using templars I have painted a while ago. I have been meaning to do something with these miniatures for quite a while. I have a bunch more of them but swapping the horses has been very time consuming and other things got my attention instead (as you do in this hobby). I fully intend to finish the templars at some point because I really like the miniatures and the sight of 12 of these bad boys riding next to one another, banners weaving in the wind, will be quite the sight.

For now I will have to make due with this picture of them traveling to a religious place. I named this picture Hallowed Destiny. I hope you enjoy.

Have to say, this is one of the most inspiring painting logs across the wargaming hobby I've come across. Been following this for a while and am almost at a stage where I can try out some similar shots of my miniatures with terrain edited in a similar style - will give full credit when I post them up on my Black Order or The Dark Gathers logs. I hope you continue to turn out material for this log, it's really something quite special.
