So it’s been a month or so since our last game.
I’ve been working overseas, so we threw a plan together to have another game of Indian Mutiny, using the TMWWBK rules as normal.
This finally happened yesterday in sweltering heat in the bunker. That just added to the Indian flavour.
Also a bottle of cold Indian Pale Ale, was shared by all to get us going.

So here we have an encounter battle in the Indian Monument Valley.

Has been brought along some super little items that he has amassed from garden centres, that were used to line the road as Indian monuments.
It also game me my first chance to use my masses of jungle that have never seen the light of day before.

The British massed on the right of the table.

The revolting Indians masses on the left hand side of the table.

Let battle commence.

I was commanding half the British force along with Dicemaster Garry.
Last time I played I was caught out by advancing far too quickly, so this time I held my ground and pounded away with my artillery.
This allowed Garry to advance on our right flank.
Now between me and you this was very odd, as Garry is not renowned for advancing (I think the heat and the free flowing beer got to him  lol)

So with Garry advancing on our right, and with him even sending cavalry into the jungle to chase  out the enemy (unheard of until today ), I was slowly being crept up on, by Has been’s nutter unit, until they appeared behind me and started cutting my Warwickshire unit to ribbons.

Garry’s cavalry, off into the jungle.

My Warwickshire’s caught napping.

The British forces finally rallied and drove off the mutineers, and after far too many bacon butties, and beer I think it turned out to be a good day for all.

I hope you enjoy the write up, and once again, my nan’s old table cloth played a major part in the game.

Turned out nice again.

As usual it was great fun. It is not the rules, but who you play with.
Yes we 'Freedom Fighters' (not mutineers, thank you) were pounded, yes pounded hard I say,
but the Badmarch guys actually got into hand to hand..... AND won a round of melee!!!!!
That alone was enough to make my day. It did hurt that the only new thing I had painted
(a British field gun & crew) was shelling me all day long, however another good thing was that
neither of our siege guns blew up (local rule), so no matter what the British infidels tell you
it was a victory for the Indians.

Ahhhh you make me laugh..

I set a trap and you fell for it...

Not really, them cheeky chaps snook up on me thro the jungle, and well and truly put the scarers on me.

Well done Pete..

Sounds (and looks) like a great game, nice layout, jungle and statues! That conduct was indeed very Un-Garry like  :o going by the few games I have played with him so far.
I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.

More battles planned in India for this coming Saturday.
We’ll be using the new Blotz Arab buildings that I posted pictures of yesterday.
Watch this space for battle reports from the front...from Saturday onwards.

Looks good

A question if I may out of interest  .. if you move all the single based figures in a block or in a sabot base  why not base them together as a unit?
Cheers

Sabot bases are good, as they allow you to remove casualties.
The sabot bases you see in the games, belong to my mate has.been.
Unfortunately I am too tight to buy sabot bases for my figures.
Maybe I'll pick some up at the Reading show at the end of the year ?
