Numidian Light Cavalry 28mm
« on: June 03, 2017, 06:13:53 AM »
In preparation for a large Punic 28mm game due to be played later this month, I interrupted my normal Napoleonic outputs to put together a small contribution to our game with an addition to my own EIR collection for a later Dacian Wars project.

My Numidians are from the Warlord range of figures and despite some minimal issues are quite nice sculpts to paint up.

Ummm...Numidians, not Zulus.
The laws of probability do not apply to my dice in wargames or to my finesses in bridge.

I understand wargamers struggling with "what colour is Bavarian Blue?" etc but the all to commen idea of painting Numidians this dark skinned still surprises me. Still JJ, I love your blog.

Skin tones may be off. But that shouldn't distract from a nice looking unit. Particularly like the basing, quite realistic.
Keep 'em coming! :)

Nice paint job on the horses but I do agree with everyone else the skin colour is far too dark (the sculpted facial features are very Australian aboriginal, too!).

Algerian Berbers are the closest thing we have to Numidians in the modern age and they range from pale to Mediterranean / Levantine to Arabic in skin colour:
